Spy Shots: AMG wizards working on Black Series SL
After giving the world the Black Series CLK at the New York Auto show as a fortieth birthday present, the gang at AMG are at it again. A very special Mercedes-Benz SL has been spotted being prepared at AMG's Nürburgring shop. Like the CLK, the SL gets modified bodywork to cover the steamroller tires and will undoubtedly get an extra helping of power. So far there's no word on when we'll see it officially or how much power it will have, but the smart money is on something involving a "63" badge on the boot.[Source: Winding Road]

I think this is more likely the SLC which is supposed to be an R8 fighter.

I thought they already got spy shots of the SLC covered in Dodge Viper panels..... wouldnt make sense to go back to SL panels if they are trying to establish a different model..... I think I'm gonna place my money on Black Series, it only makes sense.

True, but the SLC is supposed to be based off of the SL. It certainly could be the black series, but that SL is much wilder compared to the regular SL63 than the black series clk63 is to the pedestrian clk63.

I'd say it's an engine refrigeration mule, with the SLC front and engine grafted to a SL.
They tested the chassis with the streched-viper mule, an now they are testing the engine with this SL mule.
Those wheel arches aren't refined enough for a thing other than a mule.

That's not an SL. Look closely at the front shot and you'll notice it has the new corporate headlights and grille...
Whatever it is, it's gonna be mean.
