Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Ralliart caught in unceremonious reveal
Our Nipponese friends from Nihon Car just attended the imaginatively named "Motor Sport Japan 2007" event and came across the new Mitsubishi Evolution X sporting some Ralliart duds. Although they weren't able to pry any details from the tight-lipped Mitsubishi PR flacks, they were able to run around the car with a video camera and compiled the snippets into a brief montage.
Aside from the Ralliart graphics, the silver Evo appears to have gotten a set of 18-inch black rollers, what may be a different rear aerofoil and black wing mirrors. How much of this is destined for the show stand in Tokyo next month is open for debate, but it looks damn close to production trim to us.

Hmmm, still don't like the looks of it. The Impreza may be underdone, but the Lancer is overdone.

You forgot to mention that it also seems to have picked up a hideous nose.
Death to the European passenger impact regulations. They're destroying car aesthetics.

Wait, is this the "detuned" EVO X designed to compete with the normal WRX, or is it a special trim edition of the specced out EVO X?

Its a special evo version, the WRX competitor won't be called ralliart in Japan but VR-4.

My question is that I've been seeing all of the Evo X pictures with the license plate holder to the right of the nose. is that going to be where they put it on the retail car? Is there some sort of performance reason for this or something?

That makes me hate the fact that maryland requires a front license plate that much more. thats going to be so uuuugly.

Is the Evo (X) Ralliart seen here out Ralliart the same that will be shipped here? The chin spoiler will be ripped a a part unfortunately on most streets.
What type of engine will it have?
