Watching this commercial from Audi, we at first thought the automaker was giving props to its German, Italian and Swedish rivals. Then we got it.

Thanks for the tip, Jacob!

      How about the commercial where Audi is pitted against VW. What a Compo that would be. They share platforms engines, trannys. I think It would be pretty close to speed and handling because oh yeah they are the same cars. In a reliability comparison both would lose because lets face it their records speak for their respective marques.

      that's pretty sweet lol. Were those the original members of the auto union or are those completely different manufacturers?

        @Carlos
        Actually Audi was the name of the founder of the company, well kinda.

        His name was Horch wich is a German word for "listen", and the first car manufacturing company he founded along with other members was named Horch. After some time he left to start a new company but his former co-founders of Horch didn't want him to use this name for his new Company, therefore he just used the latin word for "listen" which is Audi.

        Ironic about this is only, when have you last heard something about a Horch. (Besides the Colani concept some months ago)

        Oh, I forgot

        The first key is a Alfa-Romeo as in Italian design ;-)

        Carlos,

        I couldn't quite make out what the first key ring was, but the others were BMW, Mercedes, and Volvo. The original Auto-Union members were Audi, Horch, DKW, and Wanderer. Audi is often mistaken for an acronym, but it was the name of a car company before the Auto Union.

      Audi wish they had the driving dynamics of BMW and especially the design of Alfa!
