Yeah, I don't see what the big deal would be about Bond driving a Ford. He drove quite ordinary cars in many of the older films. I remember at least one Mustang, an AMC Hornet in The Man With the Golden Gun, a Renault, etc.
In modern Bond films, the cars are used so briefly, are often just comandeered by Bond, and are usually destroyed, so who cares? It would be easy enough to work Ford vehicles into the storyline somehow.
