Frankfurt 2007: Land Rover mystery concept

Click on photo for high-res version.
Last fall, Land Rover teased attendees of an auto show with silhouetted images of an upcoming show car. Then, in January, it unveiled its Range Stormer concept car.
Looks like the British company is doing it again, teasing the folks in Frankfurt with a photo of this vaguely SUV-shaped, two-door vehicle, but releasing no details.
The Range Stormer turned out to be a treat worth waiting for, so hopefully this January in Detroit, perhaps we'll learn more about that sleek mystery car in the photo.

My guess it is the new model to fit in under the Freelander. Not boxy enough to be a Defender concept/replacement

Isn't that a BMx5 with the rear doors welded up?

It's that Sports Utility Coupe (SUC? lol) that the luxury marques seem to think is the next hot ticket item. Inifiti EX35... BMW X6...

Looks cool but the concept they should really be working on is the one where they don't get the worst reliability ratings in the entire automotive industry. Whatever it looks like, I'd be gun-shy to buy one if it's always going to break and break expensive.

why not the LS2LS7? 12:02PM (9/12/2007)
OMG, another one.
See, I know BMW wasn't going to be the only company pushing a stupid vehicle like this.
Either these two companies read the marketplace wrong, or else consumers are complete knuckleheads.
Stop buying vehicles that are unnecessarily jacked up, made heavier and fitted with AWD systems when you don't need any of these for daily use. You're just wasting your own money and wasting gasoline at a time when scarcity is a concern.

Land Rover Range Stormer-er.
it's probably another 2-door concept that ends up as a 4 door production car. maybe it slots inbetween the big honkin Discovery/LR3 and CUV Freelander/LR2. LR2.5?

Exactly. No need to get too excited about it, the production version won't look much like the concept when it comes out anyway.

@I'm Wonderful!!
YOu have it all wrong. Their rating is a blessing in disguise. My brother bought a Freeloader the first or second year it came out. The rear main seal went every otehr week - seriously. HOWEVER! every time he took it in for service he was rewarded with either a Discovery II or a Range Rover. So in essence he got a DiscoII for the price of a Freelander!
Silver lining my friend, silver lining.

Its all very well Land Rover producing these sporty concepts, But I don't belive they would of even tried if it wasn't for cars like the Porsche Cayenne.
