Alfa saving fewer Competiziones for the U.S.?

As recently as last week, we had 99 Americans all excited about becoming potential owners of the new Alfa 8C Competizione. But Automotive News says the Italians will only ship 90 copies of the gorgeous $200,000 two-seater over here after everyone else in the world has gotten theirs.
So, according to Automotive News, we're still getting the biggest allotment, with Germany and Italy getting 80, Japan 70, France and the UK 40, and Switzerland 35. That leaves 65 cars tagged as "other."
Maybe you nine Americans who got left out can find out where those "others" are going and offer a serious premium. Then again, there's always next year. And eBay.
Those of us who never had any hope of affording one, might get some consolation from our gallery of photos.

$200,000? It's pretty but I'd rather get an Audi R8 if I had that money.

I love the car too. I think it's worth the money. but, I'd get an Aston Martin DBS for 200k of my Monopoly Money.

Did you guys notice it has only one white reverse light?

Yea, the other light is most likely a rear fog light. I'm not sure if you're supposed to have 2 reverse lights or not (does anyone?) by law here (in the U.S.) but I'm sure they'll make it into a second one if need be. Although, I think it gives the few Euro cars driving around with them a cool look.

I agree that the other is a rear fog light. In 1994, Saab's 9000s (CS, CSE and Aero) had one reverse light, and one rear fog light. I don't know of other cars that made it stateside with that configuration. Maybe it's not allowed anymore?
Check one out here (It's not mine, just an image I found).

just out of curiosity, where exactly do you order one of these? like, if i was part of that world that could afford to spend enough money to buy a house on a car, where would i do it in the US? there aren't any alfa dealers...do you just go to maserati?

well if you had that kind of money, youd have connections.

Yes, you should go to a Maserati dealer.

All this probably means, I'll never see this gorgeous car in real life, StateSide, and in the worse region to be a car enthusiast: New England.

Hmm... I predict that I'll see a few of these motoring around San Francisco....
I'd gladly give some organs for that baby.

In many European countries you are only allowed one fog light, so the reversing light balances this out - and possibly only one of these is permittted too. There are always reasons...
Is it me, or have they modified the original in the bonnet (hood?) department? I'm sure the first ones had a single pressing, and now there is a separate nose section. Probably a good reason for this, but possibly not as pure?
Anyway, I'd have one if you twisted my arm.
