Spy Shots: 2009 Mercedes CLK
With Mercedes-Benz having revamped the C-Class this year and reports of a new E-Class due next year, the CLK is due the year after. The first spy shots of the new coupe have surfaced and it looks like it will be inheriting some styling cues from the new C including a grille and headlight shape like the Sport version of the sedan. The siamesed round headlights are definitely history and the cut line of the hood has moved from the top surface to the side of the fender, making a continuous line from nose to at at least the back edge of the side glass. It looks like the front edge of the hood is also a bit taller, probably to meet the latest Euro pedestrian safety standard.

Nice! I'm looking forward to this car.
Love the rims on the back, I hope they are an option with this car and not just the only rims that Mercedes had available in the right size.

Looks okay. Its basically a C class sedan with 2 doors. The front Benz nose that we've been seeing is no different on this one. Even though it looks to be a little more "swoopy" like all of the lines has transformed into, it does have a very elegant look to them. Much more classy looking then the 3-series coupes. Lets see what engine they plop into one of these. With Audi releasing there A5 next year, its going to be an interesting year for the German coupes.

The CLK is the Mercedes I like the most. I hope they don't F it up.

The 1st gen CLK was an iconic vehicle. The second generation was pretty boring except for it being a hardtop, which was pretty cool.
It looks like this new vehicle is even more boring. Whatever happened to it being built on the C-Class but looking like an E-Class? Kind of important since Mercedes wants to make this a premium product (i.e. charge premium price over the C-Class sedan)
