Leaked! Audi RS6 Avant

Click the image above for more high-res pics.
The folks over at Auto Motor und Sport (and Dubspeed) let loose several images and specs on Audi's forthcoming RS6 Avant, and although the pics are pretty, the real story is the power. Sporting a 5.2-liter V10, complete with TSI and two turbos swinging from the exhaust manifolds, the RS6 will be producing upwards of 580 HP and 480 lb.-ft. of torque. This allows the Avant to jaunt to 60 in under 4.6 seconds and onto an electronically limited top speed of 155 MPH.
The official unveiling is days away in Frankfurt, so expect more to follow.

Beautiful car...but you could never ever use that amount of power. It must probably spend more time at the pump than on the road because an engine like that drinks fuel like crazy!

580 hp, AWD, and 0-60 in 4.6 seconds?
Must be heavy.

Beautiful car, but the German 155mph limiters should go the way of the Japanese 276hp "gentleman's agreement", especially on a car like the RS6.

Sexy car. Crazy HP. I hope it's not like the SL63 where the power renders the car nearly useless because none of it can actually be put onto the road.
BTW, that "neutral" + - ! thing... is that disabled for regular users? There often are quite a few trollish comments that need to be put down.

given the car is an audi, and part of the rs line of cars, i'd wager putting power down is not an problem - it's amazing what a little quattro will do for traction.

SOhp101,
It's not disabled. I'm guessing you're using Firefox. I do, and it doesn't work for me, either. When I switch to IE, the voting works fine.
I'll let the devs know.

Love it!
Fenders hark back to the original quattro.

$100k probably
darth 9:16PM (9/04/2007)
probly round the same price as the e55 benz and m5 bimmer
Daniel 9:32PM (9/04/2007)
No way. S6 is only 10k less than the M5. I'd say 100k also, to say the least. Also, this engine sounds like it'd be good for the R8
darth 9:40PM (9/04/2007)
yea but this car has the same v10 as the s6 just with twin turbo...
so this cars really are'nt that different
so it prolby will be similar likely a bit more than the e55 or m5
Conor 4:48PM (9/05/2007)
Then Give me 100k and sign me up. ; )

i'm not feeling the fender flares. the last RS6 and current RS4 "bulges" work better i think. i know it's supposed to be like the UR Quattro but i can't help but think it looks more like the original Acura Legend...
they finally got that grill right; one piece mesh all the way down.

Twincharger? didn't expect that, but it makes sense for an engine like this. Lots of boost with minimal lag.

Judging from the number plate, 600hp is to be expected.

I think the license plate means Ingolstadt RS6, # 00.
