Spy Shots: Upgraded Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Less than a month after the launch of the new DBS, images of a similarly-prepped V8 Vantage have surfaced ahead of a likely unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Changes to the car include new clear-lens taillights, beefier brake discs with uprated calipers and some aero upgrades including a rear diffuser. The car hasn't been officially announced by Aston Martin but early reports suggest it'll be called the Vantage V8 RS.The car will basically be a tamer version of the road-legal but stripped-out N24 club-racer, so expect some power mods under the hood such as breathing and ECU upgrades to deliver improved response from the gas pedal. Though it's hard to tell from these spy shots, the interior should have plenty of carbon-fiber and aluminum elements adding to the race car feel.
Earlier reports suggested that Aston Martin is planning to present two new race-inspired cars at the Frankfurt show in addition to the new DBS, so with this new Vantage V8 model revealed we wonder what else it has up its sleeves.

A great looking car, but it needs all of these power upgrades and enhancements to keep up with the Audi R8. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure these enhancements will not be free, making the V8 RS version an excellent competitor with the R8- except for the price.

One of the most (if not the most) beautiful cars in the world needed more power in the first place. 380hp out of a naturally aspirated 4.3L V8 is not bad, but only 302 lb-ft of torque @ 5,000 rpm is not spectacular. A 0-60 time of (I think) about 5 seconds is just too slow for its class. Otherwise the V8 Vantage is a great car and hopefully this one will put you back in your seat.

Hands down one of the most gorgeous cars on the planet. I thought the rear lights looks fine as they were, but what do I know. I still want one.

smokin.
In that theme, the tail lights should be smoke tinted, and keep the body-color strike-through.
the red brakes look interesting, but almost too distracting with the rear reflectors and markers... too much red breaking up the deep black.
but the car is just smokin' hot. Front-engined sportscars don't get any better.
