Looks like somebody has already gotten tired of the as-yet-unreleased '08 Accord Coupe's looks. Spotted over the weekend, here's a pic of the coupe sporting a mild HIN makeover, with a full body kit, sunroof deflector and rear wing too! While it doesn't look atrocious, it seems oh so unnecessary. It is presumed to be a fully optioned model that uses the complete dealer accessory option list, perhaps doing a photo shoot for their catalog. Whatever else it is, it's unique.

I expected something a lot better from Honda, but then I realized that besides the S2000 and the NSX they have never had a good looking product.

      WTF!

Why is it that every new car looks like it has been hit with the "Bangle Stick?"

Wow, I mean, the A5, this thing, even the newest Mercedes have "flame surfacing" a' la the 5 Series. Enough already. This thing looks like the offspring of a BMW/ Pontiac wild weekend, which is a bit like a cousin/ cousin thing since the two brands are so close in exterior characteristics.

Heck, only the guys at Subaru can make a car ugly these days w/o resorting to the playbook of the industry's most disparaged designer. But, at least a Subaru goes like stink, runs for ever, crashes pretty well and won't make you choose between a car and that vacation home on the shore.

Sunroof deflector? Doesn't it have a pop up leading edge deflector?
Ugly wing, how about a lip spoiler that reduces drag and reduces lift.

Much prettier than the Si wing. http://www.collegehillshonda.com/storeart/8thgencoupe/hfprear.jpg

Well guys, you are really slow at getting this one. I sent you a tip about these pictures last week. I found them at vtec.net. I also sent you last week some more pics of the same V6 silver coupe that I tipped you about at a car wash but you never posted them. And the 1 interior picture that you posted, actually there are 4 of them but you only posted 1. Thanks.

I gotta agree with CoreyG. These collector cars are boring and I scroll right past them. ZZZZzzzzz. Wake me up when the Frankfurt auto show starts.

        @ Corey
Don't be an ass. The current collector car coverage on Autoblog is much more interesting than this single angle, low-resolution, no-news picture of the hideous new Accord. Autoblog is doing just what they should be - writing about all things related to cars and not just catering to all of the import and domestic fan boys.

          @mayday

Corey might be a jerk and an amusing one too, but he's right. This isn't a fanboy or domestic/import thing, it's a relevance thing. The Accord Coupe sells in enormous volumes and there's a big percentage of Autoblog readers who will be shopping for one. Most of us could care less about how many zillions of dollars some dumbass tycoon in Newport Beach paid for a restored muscle car or steam-powered limousine from 1908.

(Sorry if this is a double post)

Sorry about missing your tip and pics. You may have noticed how busy we were attending and covering all of the big collector car shows and auctions this past week.
Hold on a second here. I'm not that idiot coreyG. I guess you are mistaken me for coreyG. I understand what you said in your 1st reply and I appreciate your quick response and explanation. I guess that coreyG is the one who woke up on the wrong side this morning.

Somebody got up on the wrong side of the bed. I thanked you and offered an explanation for why your tip got lost in the chaos of last week. While we know that comments are a huge part of what makes us as successful as we are, we also appreciate clicks, and coverage of events like the ones over the weekend generate tons of them. It's not an either/or situation, it's just that when so much of our team is out covering live events, it's easier to miss a random tip.
Maybe if you weren't so busy "attending and covering all of the big collector car shows and auctions this past week" you would have realized that nobody gives a crap about that. This one Accord coupe item comes close to exceeding the number of comments for all the other collector car show shit you guys have been posting combined.

wow, Corey, so tough and sharp-tongued! I wonder if you would speak to him like that FACE TO FACE? (so easy to be tough hiding behind a screen, sittin' in your briefs)

I saw a loaded Altima Coupe in white with black leather interior at a Nissan show-room last week and it kills this derivative thing they call the next gen Accord.
Hmmmm.... nope! Still don't want one.
      @ Jeff.

2003 called and it wants its internet sarcasm back.

The new Accord is growing on me (although this body-kit doesen't help). Regardless, this puppy is going to be another sales winner for Honda. I'll reserve final judgement when I actually see one in person and sit inside.

        Note to everyone:

Never take car advice from someone who is "Ivey League Educated".

I would prefer to take car advice from someone who has gotten dirt under their finger nails once in a while.

Looks like a Grand Am. Everything comes full circle, doesn't it.
I really liked the concept, but this is very disappointing. I hope this is some sort of sick joke.

The only people that would find this cool are the ubiquitous punks with the curly hairdoos & crooked caps.
Ugh, the side looks like a Pontiac Grand Am. That's absolutely awful.
        Right on, Allonbloack,

I was thinking Pontiac GTO at first glance.
Ha. I thought the same thing...uniquely ugly.

Raise your hand if you like sunroof deflectors!

      I hate them.
