The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, already the backdrop for the introductions of another special-edition Lexus SC 430 (yawn) and the production Infiniti EX (better), is also the venue for an automobile debut more in keeping with the spectacular vehicles that will be displayed this weekend. That car is the Aston Martin DBS, and yes, Virginia, it is ten kinds of awesome.
Due in the first quarter of '08, the latest Bondmobile receives a 510-horsepower/420 lb-ft version of the DB9's 6-liter V12. The only way to harness that power is through a 6-speed manual, and on top of everything else, the DBS, at 3,736 lbs, is 143 pounds lighter than a comparable DB9 coupe with the same transmission. 0-62 mph arrives in a scant 4.3 seconds, and the car keeps going up to 191 mph. Carbon ceramic brakes provide the stopping power, and a 5-setting Adaptive Damping System helps keep the 20-inch Pirelli-wrapped wheels glued to the tarmac. We'll add an update for you once we receive Aston Martin's full press release and vehicle specs.

All the money that Ford wasted on this irrelevent car, while the North American domestic line was starved for development cash, sad.
And the (once market leading) Ford Ranger pickup soldiers on without a major redesign for nearly 20 years.

Irrelevant? Maybe. Beautiful? Yes!

Hey MiniMe, go troll elsewhere. Ford didn't waste money on this. Aston Martin spent the money on this car, and I think it was extremely well spent. "Oh but Ford owned Aston"....Yeah, but each company is a separate entity. Ford doesn't tell Land Rover,Jag, or Volvo what to spend money on or not.
Complain to FORD for the crap that they sell, not Aston Martin.

The only one selling crap here is you. Where the hell do you think Aston Martin got the money to develop this car when they haven't turned a net profit since Ford owned them up till two months ago? From all the folks who bought Mondeos, Fiestas, foci, etc.
Thank Dog Ford is ridding itself of these loser Eurocrap divisions who only lose money and market their crap wagons to wealthy gays on America's coasts.
And the DBS is an overweight, astonishingly overpriced turd to boot.

I don't argue with trolls. Seriously, what kind of statement is that.

This looks a lot more sporty than the DB9. I've seen the early incarnation of it in person and it was much smaller than the DB9.

What is a word that means more awesome than awesome? Because that is what should be used here. I think I might start saying that things I REALLY like are "DBS"...

This is one sweet ride man!! Nice work AM! If a V12 Aston can weight 3700lbs, the V8 M3 should be much lighter than 3600lbs.....What happened BMW??? Too much donuts?

I guess only true car aficionados will understand but when I scrolled down the pages of Autoblog...."Oh my....uhuhuh..." Then when I got to the interior I got the shakes.
This car is unrealistically gorgeous, sexy, ensual, sultry, seductive, voluptuous, racy, amorous, tempting, tantalizing, arousing and stimulatingly----hot.

Does it come with the correct wheel bolts?

I imagine you are referring to the recall of wheel studs on the Bentley Arnage. Here's some automotive 101:
Aston Martin - Doesn't make Bentley's
Bentley - Makes Bentley's

Heaps of HP, light(ish) weight, carbon techy bits, electronic dohickies and probaly the best looking car in the universe, can things get any better than this.

I don't know guys... you all seem to love the way this car looks, but I can't get over the super-long front and rear overhangs. Don't like the looks, really.
As far as Astons go, I like the V8 Vantage much better...

"The only way to harness that power is through a 6-speed manual,"
007? If my memory is correct, Daniel Craig couldn't drive a standard in Casino Royale (the vintage DB5) and had to be taught.
