Spy Shots: Audi RS6 Avant
While flashy, high dollar exotics have their place in the world; utilitarian Q-ship have a special place in our hearts -- Audi wagons in particular. Although its no surprise that when Audi releases the new RS6, likely next month in Frankfurt, the wagon model won't be too far off, and these newest spy shots confirm our suspicions that progress is well underway.Packing what's expected to be a 5.2-liter V10 with a set of turbos attached to the exhaust manifold, the RS6 should be good for somewhere in the neighborhood of 550 to 600 HP. And while physics-altering acceleration is expected, only true sleeper aficionados will be able to recognize the beefed-up brakes, reworked bumper, larger dual exhausts and diffusers.
We'll be on hand in Frankfurt if Audi does in fact pull the wraps off the RS6, and we'll start boning up on our German so we can pester execs about the launch of the Avant.

that sound very nice, but I still say offer me RWD adn time to re-design
the bar-of soap Audi designs are getting old and boring considering the new A6 doesn't look that much different from the 1997 A6 with the exception fo the front grill.

Actually the new A6 looks ALOT different than the old 1997 A6. For one, the rear on the old A6 looks like a saggy pooch, the new one is more masculine.
IMO these station wagons are what make it boring and Im glad that the United States will never see it. Bring the sedan here, and you Europeans can keep the ugly station wagons...

Phil: the Avant looks way better than the Sedan, its proportions are better and so on, it just looks as if it was conceived before the Sedan was. And have you seen those LED taillights on the Avant? Fabulous.

An RS kid-carting wagon? I think I just splooged in my khaki's. Rides like this make me look forward to getting a family car.

The very first RS model, the RS2 was Avant only.

That Avant might look good in comparison to other stationwagons no doubt, but personally it aint going to get the chicks.
I'll take the swoopy lines of a black RS6 sedan with that full 600bhp and have the valet park it out front of the nicest restaurant in the city. I guarantee I will walk out of that place with a blonde on each arm. Try that in an R8 or Gallardo... One extra seat = one extra babe for more fun...

The very first RS, the RS2 was Avant only. Just like the B5 RS4.
