Would the driver of the giant wiener please move your buns?

Chicago loves its hot dogs, unless of course they're illegally parked. Then they're getting a ticket just like every other fast food-shaped vehicle breaking the law.
On Thursday, the
Wienermobile was caught in a no-parking zone on Michigan Avenue and promptly ticketed by one of Chicago's finest. The 27-foot-long, iconic frank-on-wheels' driver, however, returned to the vehicle just in time to save it from the city's tow truck.
Sydney Lindner, a spokesperson for Kraft, told the
Associated Press, illegal parking is against company policy, "even if you're driving a company vehicle that's shaped like a giant hot dog."
It's too bad all the other weenies on the road don't follow proper driving etiquette.

The mother of this thing's driver should have taught her son to be more careful about where he parked his wiener.

The weenermobile is still the coolest car to ever hit the road in the history of mankind.
Plus, even with a fiberglass body, it holds up better in crash tests than any steel car made in China!

if i was the one having to write this thing up for illegal parking
i'd let it slide just based on the hilarity of seeing it in person.

Autoblog... you have a story as pun-laden as this and I see merely one? It's DRIPPING with pun-portunities. They plump when you cook 'em! Oh wait, wrong brand...
Props to RicardoHead, that was damn funny.

I find this funny because one of my friend's sister happens to be on the road team, and i saw it two days ago in my town outside of chicago.

The Wienermobile is the best. They came to my campus a while back. I was like wtf, it's real! The girls are so friendly, and they gave me a Wienermobile toy--nice!

I think that they got a lot of slack from the cops because in a real chicago dog, you don't use an Oscar Meyer hot dog, you use a Vienna Beef. Cops know their dogs, and maybe they thought the wiener mobile needed to get with the times and ketchup.

Is it not a violation of Civil Liberties for the police to interfere with the placement of your weiner?
My God, I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.
Signed,
Captain Obvious

If I could have any job in the world it would be driving the O-M Wienermobile!
MK @ Aug 12th 2007 4:36PM
I agree with Alex, you can't tow the Weinermobile!
Those Chi-Town cops need a sense of humor ;-)

Hmm... the driver almost lost his weiner.
That would hurt big-time. :D
Rene Curry @ Aug 13th 2007 4:32AM
If you put a protective bra on the weinermobile, would it then become a crossover ?? :-)
