PREVIEW: 2007 Meadow Brook Concours d' Elegance

For those with a taste for classic cars and motorcycles, Meadow Brook Hall in Auburn Hills ,MI will be the place to be this weekend. The 29th annual Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance will be taking place Sunday, August 5 and will feature 225 vintage automobiles. A special display will include three of the famous Alfa Romeo B.A.T. cars from 1953-55. The B.A.T. or Berlinetta Aerodinamica Tecnica cars were aerodynamic research concepts developed by Bertone and they introduced styling elements that showed up on production vehicles well into the 1960s.
Also on display on the lawn at Meadow Brook Hall will be forty vintage four-cylinder motorcycles and the 1931 Bugatti Royale from the Henry Ford Museum. In preparation for this show, the Royale has been carefully rejuvenated and is running for the first time in more than two decades. There will also be a classic car auction on Saturday with more than 85 cars up for grabs. Admission to the show on Sunday is $25 for adults and college students get in for free with their ID, as do kids under 12.

Oh I get it. If you look really hard, you can see somethings that look like motorcycles, sometimes cars. Nice visual effect!

The Bugatti is worth north of $10MM and the collection of 50ish cars will be spectacular. If you've never been to the Concours and are a car junky - you need to go. In addition, in the courtyard will be 25 of the current Supercars.

The sixth annual festival will feature vintage motorcyles, brass era autos, The Worldwide Group auction, track days and sanctioned racing at nearby world-class Roebling Road Raceway (normally closed to the public) and hundreds of collectible and rare cars, including Italian sports cars and American muscle cars and hotrods.
