H&R drops the Audi A5/S5, before you can even buy one

Even though the Audi A5 and S5 won't be available until spring of '08, H&R, purveyors of all things sprung and stiff, have announced the availability of lowering springs for both models. When you do finally get your hands on Audi's newest hotness, you'll be able to choose a drop of 10-35 mm, depending on the package.
Additionally, you can push your 18- or 19-inch rolling stock out with a set of aluminum wheel spacers sized between 6mm and 60 mm, and H&R has announced the development of a full coilover setup and anti-roll bars. Can't wait to see the first widebody kit on these cars.
You can view all the available options at H&R's site, and click on through for the suspension wizard's press release.

PRESS RELEASE
From now on, the Audi A5 and S5, the new powerful and elegant coupes, can even be made more dynamic by H&R's attractive suspension packages. The H&R spring kit not only further enhances the sporty look, but the lowering by 35 millimeters also results in improved driving dynamics. A spring kit is available for the S-line packages as well. Here, the ground clearance is reduced by about 25 millimeters as compared to the standard model.
Hence, the 18 and 19 inch rims perfectly fill out the wheel arches and complete the elegant side view. The chassis nevertheless does not become uncomfortable, but rather ensures excellent road contact.
For still more agile handling, the suspension specialists from Lennestadt have developed a monotube coil over which can be equipped with H&R's upgraded sports stabilizers. Therewith, the A5 becomes even more dynamic and feels like a smallersized sports car.
The A5 now makes winding roads seem straight – a fact that will nearly take your breath away.
In addition to this, H&R's TRAK+ aluminium wheel spacers reduce over- and understeering tendencies and give great optics. A weight saving of up to 70 percent as compared to conventional steel wheel spacers helps to keep down the unsprung mass.
H&R thus offers the perfect supplements to Audi's new chassis concept and enhances the look of the sporty, elegant A5.

1) your post makes no sense
2) quattro is now RWD biased with a 60/40 rear/front split
Marko 6:45PM (7/27/2007)
You'd care if you lived in a snowbelt area like I do.
Until someone matches the performance of Quattro, i'll keep shopping right here thank you.

Huh?
And if you don't give a sh** why waste your time commenting on this post, and waste our time reading your no sense reply?

So, if given a choice between a Crown Vic and a S5, you'd take the Vic because it's RWD?
I'll never understand drive wheel bigotry. There's a lot of front-drivers that have better handling (and more fun to drive) than quite a few rear-drivers, especially those rear-drivers with dead steering and soggy suspensions.

I live in Michigan and I don't like quattro
that's why I said til this car is RWD who cares

Okay...rear-drive over all-drive...

AWD is superior to RWD.
Stop smoking that muscle car crack.

These cars arent rare, are they? I mean, I know they dont come out till next year, but i've seen two of them (So Cal) with the dealer plates on them. Should I be taking spy shots of this or not?

I had the same thought when I was in Pasadena two weeks ago. Saw a dark blue one on 210 and thought that I had dropped the ball on knowing when cars are coming out and such knowledge.

I saw a red one in Phoenix on Wednesday. I don't think that they're all that rare at this point. They are beautiful though.

I'm guessing they were around for a photo shoot or testing or some sort of marketing.
I saw the q7 months before release in and around L.A.
Audi doesn't even have pricing on the A5, so I don't know how or why a dealer would have one to sell.

Golum, I mean Ligor has recently always posted negative comments about AUdi and seems to always defend BMW. So we can surmise he is showing the very same bitterness ( based in fear ) that is making itself known at BMW itself. I can bet it will only get worse as the rings of power dominate the world of the elite and motorsports. Audi is the new "it" and rightly deserved but it's oh so sad though when a "has been" car company and their groupies just wont go away.

Sounds like false advertising to me. Unless they actually have developed with an actual A5, how would they know handling and ride are improved? I'd like to know where they got their hands on an A5.
Also, the magnetic shocks will blow this out of the water.
Of course, you won't be able to impress the hood rats with magnetic dampers.

Have you even considered the possibility that Audi might have released the A5 in Europe before launching it in the US? It's been out here for a good couple of months at least. And might I add, it's just as bland as all other Audis. Audi wanting to double their model lineup in a few years is respectable, but it's not that great if they're doing simply by Copy+Pasting.

Manufacturers having pre-production cars for vendor to try and develop their products on are very common. I won't be suprised if H&R get a hand on one to develop their products.

How similar are the A4 and A5? If they're akin to the 3-Series coupe/sedan, then it should be trivial to design for both.

The new A4 is based on the same platform as the A5... the new A4 is presented first time this year at the IAA Autoshow in Frankfurt Germany

actually I prefer Inifinti, but if I had to choose Audi or BMW i'd probably go to the Cadillac or Inifinti delaer and avoid both those cars.
