Spyker C12 Zagato delayed
The Spyker C12 Zagato, introduced during the same burst of fanfare that followed Spyker's acquisition of an F1 team, has been put on hold. Only 24 are slated to be made, and only for existing Spyker customers, but Spyker simply doesn't have the production capacity at the moment. Right now, the company has enough to deal with getting its backlog of current and coming models made, at the same time working to shore up its finances. According to the Auto Telegraaf, the company will be posting a large loss this year, the F1 team is having trouble with sponsors, and company shareholders are bickering. Not that we would necessarily spend $700K on one, but we would think it a shame if the C12 Zagato was crushed by market forces.

Errr the front draws heavilly on the Toyota Celica to me:)

I really like the F1 touches, like the cooling chimneys two diagonal slats in the front grill.

To be honest I've never felt much for the looks of this particular Spyker. Spyker has enough problems to worry about and this news is not going to help them. Already their stock value is dropping and people are starting to back out. But then again, you shouldn't make promises that you can't keep; it's always bad for business. Personally I would never buy a Spyker (despite the fact that I'm dutch), I think its too much money for what is basically and Audi RS4 in some new sheet metal, not to mention that it's performance is quite lacking compared to its competitors. Unfortunately it seems like Spyker is slowly crawling to its own end; entering Formula1 was the worst thing they could have done in my opinion.

Very, very true! Small companies cannot afford F-1 size budgets.
That said, appearance is subjective - I am sure that there are more than a few who like the looks of this car and would be willing to pay their hard earned money to buy it, if they could. Yet another example of a small company trying to reach too high and then crashing, Icarus-like?
