If you want to know what the inside of a Brilliance coupe looks like before it disintegrates in an NCAP test, pictures are finally available. As was said of the sedan, it's actually ... all right. There's a plethora of plastic, it's a bit on the dark side, and forget about sitting in the back seats -- but you can say the same things about plenty of non-Chinese coupes. In time, we're sure that the Chinese will get the minor issue of crash survivability sorted out; the question is how much time will it take. Until then, the best bet is look, don't touch.

"The luxury of the Brilliance is to continue within the passenger compartment. For instantiation: highly technical dashboard components produced of flavored plastic! Savorings of cinnamon, mint and salty licorice plum leave the mouths feeling fresh after unexpected stop!"

Come on. Enough of the poor crash test result.
I mean who NEEDS good crash test rating when you are probably killed by lead poisoning first from touching those plastics. This is why a good crash test rating is not necessary.

I wonder if it handles like a wet noodle. Also, does anybody else think it looks outdated already? The design just looks old. Like something out of a 90's mustang.

I actually think the design is well executed. The plastics look overly shiny but other than that the forms look very nice. At least it makes a Chrysler interior look like a pile of cardboard.
But what gets me is the knee bolster (glovebox area). It has this extra protrusion that I'm really wondering about. I think that's a new feature known as "The Shin Cracker".

That will look real nice when your face and knees are embedded in the dashboard.

Brilliance is going at the wrong way. Being equally unsafe, consumers are far less likely to accept a $20,000 Chinese car(Brilliance) than a $10,000 Chinese car(Chery or Geely), which is what the consumers are expecting Chinese cars to be in the first place anyway.
Automotive market is one place where the Chinese price doesn't exist(Chinese cars are only 5~10% cheaper than Toyota and Hyundai after meeting all the US regulations), and where the sales price alone is a minor portion of total ownership cost and there are other cost considerations, like insurance, resale value, repair, and reliability.
People need to separate "Made In China" from "Chinese brand". "Made in China" by foreign multinationals have taken over the world, but "Chinese brand" hasn't(how many Chinese global brands do you remember?), and I don't foresee the reversal of this trend. Chinese brand cars will never become a significant part of the US and EU automotive market landscape, where even the likes of GM and Ford are dying.

Confooshus say "he who live in idiocy die in Brilliance!"

Brilliant!
