JE Design pumps 500hp with Audi Q7 Widebody

No matter what way you look at it, the Audi Q7 is a hefty hunk of metal at 2.3 tons, and that's before you load in the kids, the camping gear and everything short of the proverbial kitchen sink. With the 350hp 4.2-liter FSI V8, it can still hustle all the way up to 60 in 7.4 seconds, but if you ask the gents at JE Design, that isn't nearly fast enough. So the German tuning house, which has already worked its magic on the lower 3.0-liter TDI V6, has turned its attention to the V8 model and built a fire-breathing monster of a family hauler.
Fitting a supercharger, intercooler, custom exhaust, new pistons and engine management system, JE Design managed to squeeze out an impressive 500 horsepower. That's enough to drop the 0-60 time down to just 5.6 seconds without breaching European emission regulations.
Not ones to give the go without the show, JE Design also fits its widebody appearance and aerodynamic kit, complete with faired fenders, front and rear aprons, fog lights, 22" rims and the works. All in all, this is not something you want to see rapidly approaching in your rearview mirror, but don't worry... it won't be there for long.

kinda reminds me of the older TT with those wide fenders.
From the picture I wouldnt have guessed that those were 22s

Gee! I'm so glad to see that there will be 500 HP cars stuck in dense traffic. If I remember my entry-level sociology class lecture, that's known as "cultural lag."
It's also silly because loons who drive these overpowered things take inordinate risks.

*flared* fenders. As in, they flare out from the body. Not as in they are fair to look at or made to be more equal.
Sheesh. Shoddy proofreading is one thing, but you'd think that someplace "obsessively" covering the industry would know the terminology.

Fugly as it can be!
However, I drove an Q7 for 400km and it felt very good. And yes, I think that the Q7 is better looking than most SUVs. But not... this.
The 233HP from the 3.0 diesel were just fine. 500HP will be a bliss.
Somebody will be very happy. At least when he'll not look at this abomination. 10+ for horsepower, 2- for design.

Does anyone actually buy these things? Does anyone else think that low profile tires on a truck look like high heels on a Clydesdale?
