The Serpent F180: possibly the coolest scale model car ever
The Serpent F180 is the kind of car we could spend a lot of time with. A 1/8-scale replica of a formula racer, it has all-round independent double-wishbone push-rod-activated suspension, self-bleeding shocks, rear diff, 4-wheel disc brakes, a lay down engine with pushbutton starter, and a polished exhaust. In addition to the rear geometry, track width and suspension settings, you can adjust the brake balance and front anti-roll bar stiffness. Each car also comes with a carrying case and a keychain that features the car's unique serial number. Even if we could be trusted to build it properly -- it come with two manuals -- there's no way we could be trusted to get any work done once it was finished.
Thanks for the tip, KP!

I have got to add this to my R/C collection. I almost bought the F1 car from Thunder Tiger... This one looks like it will handle much better and have more set up options!!!

that is cool.... you use a remote control correct? probably a dumb question, always wanted to get into these, have a bunch of 9.6vt battery cars at home but this would kick ass.
looks like it's ~ $900-$1200 ... wonder how the mpg/scale would be..

RC cars have been quite advanced for quite some time now. My Kyosho 1/8 scale Castrol Tom's Supra JGTC car has two limited slip diffs and a viscous coupling. Serpent is known for making the best, though this car is probably only capable on running on r/c tracks and not in a parking lot unless the lot was incredibly clean. The only feature on this car that I haven't seen before is four wheel braking on a 2wd car (because of the immense power involved and the limited role of aerodynamics on such a small car, virtually all onroad r/c cars are 4wd).

why not the LS2/LS7? 4:16PM (7/05/2007)
Open wheel R/C cars are typically RWD only. Yes, they are difficult to control and are often raced with foam tires to at least make it a bit easier.
You're right that most R/C cars are AWD, and boy is it easier to control. With the amount of torque on my electric sedan, I can easily spin the tires with AWD, RWD would be very limiting. My car has two ball diffs but no front to back slip ability (since I didn't put in the one-way).
