It's official: the Transformers are taking over Autoblog, and we gleefully surrender. Any other time a 1976 Camaro sits on a turntable, we wisely give it precisely zero attention. Throw a few Transformer logos on the stand less than a month before the movie hits theaters, and the story gets front row treatment.

The Barcelona Motor Show opens on June 9th, and kids and grownups alike get to see first hand what the old Bumblebee looks like up close. We think the stand would be even cooler if it were the '09 Camaro, but hey, the '76 version was pretty cool too. You can see it by hitting the jump to view the short clip.

      Transformers = GM cars in disguise.
      or
      Transformers = GM Edition

      An for those that continually Harp as to why no European vehicles are in this movie. For what I'm sure won't be the last time. European manufactures and I believe especially Germany car makers have a No War Movie Policy of some sort. GM has no such policy especially since it is a part of GE who sell planes, tanks and such.

        GM is not part of the GE umbrella...and although you are right, both make some military hardware, GE does not make planes or tanks, but they make some of the engines that go into those vehicles.

      I had a 1977 Camaro (along time ago mind you) and it was a great first car. Gold w/black stripes and a Muncie 4spd w/350cu engine. Fun fun fun car back then. I think this publicity will start a rejuvination of the 70's era 'maros. If it doesn't, no big deal. that is all. Enjoy your day.

      It's official: I'm sick of you flogging this crappy movie, and I'm gleefully not coming back here until it has come and gone (if then). Guess I'll get my fix at some other auto site; it's not like there's a shortage of them.

        Sionara, it is pretty hard to scroll past the stories you don't want to read. Get back to work! ;)

      Paul, not sure where you are located, but in R-ham NC (where my folks live) there is a neighbor who is wanting to sell his 76/77 and it's in great shape. I always take a look at it when I visit. Reminds me of my youth. And trust me, cars in that part of the country are well taken care of and most of the time, the owners are not aware of their value, so most of the time, you get an AMAZING deal. I'm visiting them in 3wks, I can stop and inquire about it for you or get more info for you via email. Let me know.
