Have you ever noticed that the vast majority of high-profile Ferrari crashes involve only one person? It's almost as if Enzo designed his Ferraris to be high performance Darwin machines. Well folks, we have yet another Ferrari mishap, this one taking place during some sort of Ferrari parade, and someone caught it on tape. Luckily, this wasn't a high-impact crash and it's likely that nobody was injured, but it sure looks like the driver had absolutely no idea what he or she was doing. The driver of the Italian supercar needed only to turn left and drive slowly down the street, but the slightest punch of the accelerator lead to oversteer and an expensive fender bender. Somewhere out there, Enzo is shaking his head and muttering "Stupido!". Now we know why there's an 18-month waiting list for a Ferrari and you can get a gun after sitting on your hands for 30 days. Hit the jump to check out the video.

idiot. on an application to purchase a ferrari, an IQ test should be standard protocal. then, drive training. then whatever else they can think of to now allow stupid people to drive.

I saw a guy do this with a C5 Corvette Z06. He turned off traction control and slammed it going into second, the back broke loose and instead of doing the logical thing and backing off and trying to regain control, he thought it was cool to stay in it with the rear tires blowing a huge plume of smoke.
He thought it was cool that is until it went past 180 degrees to his point of aim and bounced off of another car, snapped the other way and bounced over a curb, through someone's front lawn, across a driveway (and a low retaining wall) and piled up against a street sign.

did any one notice that when this guy started to spin out, he slammed the accelerator, you can here the car rev high while hes side ways.
had he stopped accelerating and just countersteered he would have been fine.
but the best part was how confused he looked afterwords, he drove back and forth a couple feet and didnt really seem to know what to do.

Man, watching rich idiots wreck nice cars never gets old. I'm surprised there isn't a TV show that focuses on these kinds of video clips.

Nah, i think it's an old Merc-benz D-class.
You know what's worse than the ferrari getting smashed? That women that is just standing there waiting to get hit by a car.

I get my guns within minutes of filling out the paperwork. To hell with the 30 days!

counter-steer!

Exactly why nearly all exotics come with traction control and a host of other driver aids. Can you imagine how sales would fall if the owners of these cars actually had to know how to drive. Give me a 1973 911 R Gruppe and plenty of runoff area.
Logik @ Jun 8th 2007 9:17AM
Laff! I wonder how those people resisted not laughing. We all make mistakes, not usually while driving a Ferrari though. Does that automatically multiply the magnitude of your mistake?
Sids911 @ Jun 9th 2007 12:45PM
Pretty stupid error but for those who've driven Ferrari cars, especially the older ones will know just how difficult and technical it is to drive them.
Its not like your usual honda or toyota cars.
