So many things are possible thanks to the wonders of eBay. Tea with Nelson Mandela? No problem. Ferrari Enzo? Sure, you can have one, and you can even get one with a 26-year-old woman tacked onto the deal.
Needless to say, we aren't surprised to come across a Porsche Boxster with a Carrera GT bodykit -- recessed doors, power hardtop convertible, Tiptronic (or "Triptonic," if you look at the auction listing), and just 16,000 miles on it. It also sports new rims worth $6K. The seller is moving to Hawaii, lucky dog, and has "too many cars," as if there is any such thing.
With a reserve of over $50,000 we're not exactly expecting a blowout, but it is a cool knock-off for significantly less than a bona-fide Carrera GT -- and with Porsche engineering, still. Place your bids here.
Thanks for the tip, Zac!

Stock Boxster look better than this, and is a respectable enough car to not need this kind of rebodying. Looks especially clumsy with the hard top on. And it's an automatic.

eh, at least its still a real porsche

Why go through all that trouble and then not get the wheels even close to right?

Erin, maybe the 'Triptonic' refers to the beverage needed to enjoy such a vehicle....

What a clown.
Reminds me of something totally poseur-ish I saw last night: a Cayman with a tiptronic. What the f^ck kind of idiot buys a Cayman with a craptronic transmission? Does this idiot date Jessica Simpson and insist she wear a chastity belt too?!

The Boxster/Cayman is one of the most gorgeous and envy-inducing cars on the road, so I don't understand the desire to change it....but this is still better-looking than that Smart-Porsche thing that was posted way back

Why couldnt they crash this thing in "redline" instead of 2 carrera GT's..... those bastards.

There's a lucky guy in Ann Arbor who drives a real Carrera GT around the town sometimes. Everytime I see it, makes me depressed...
