The Subie fans over at NASIOC have come out with more photos of the JDM S-GT Impreza, due to be released later this year in Japan. While we've already questioned why Subaru would drop its storied WRX moniker for the hollow "S-GT" badge, we will mention that a 7,500 RPM redline will dispatch any and all criticisms of what characters are affixed to the boot.

The other pics procured by flyinpig include shots of a "15S" Impreza, which will likely sport Subaru's new 1.5-liter boxer, producing 105 HP and 105 lb-ft. of torque.

We doubt the entry-level 15S will be available in North America and we downright hope that we never see an S-GT badge on Subaru's newest all-wheel drive five-door.

I like it regardless of what others say, but I hope the US bound models
come w/ standard steering controls on both sides of the wheel. As well as xeon lamps.

All cars in Japan are limited at 180kph.

Maybe the Subaru plan here is to release photos of these horrid looking 08 models to make sure all of the remaining relatively attractive 07 models are cleared off the dealer lots.

I've been a Subie owner for almost a decade and have liked their somewhat offbeat appearance. My 02 WRX is no beauty, but there just isn't enough faux-rally lipstick for this pig.

srivendel #8, I completely agree. Having URL's link is a helpful feature but also encourages comments like #1 above and non relevant links but relevant comments like #4.

It's just as easy to copy+paste urls that we find interesting and gives SEO motivated people less incentive.

The hood strut photo was strictly for the fan boys as until now its always had a hood prop.

i don't mind the name S-GT, and the 15S should be economical, but man is this one ugly car, and i thought the new RVO was bad, looks great compared to this lump, the front end is not as nice as 07 cars, as other commenters noted, but this may change for foreign markets, and the WRX will probs return, even in JPN

I certainly hope it looks better in the flesh. Judging from the fact that someone took the time to photograph the piston holding the hood up for a gallery shot doesn't bode well. That, and the interior looks just as awful as ever...
