Spy Shots: 2008 Honda Accord EX sedan
It appears Honda had a whole hoard of 2008 Accords out on the roads the other day for spy photogs to catch. The first shots we brough you were of the base four-cylinder 2008 Honda Accord sedan. The latest batch of pics reveals the 2008 Honda Accord EX, the sedan's most uplevel trim. Painted in a deep (and dirty) black sporting alloy wheels that Temple of VTEC believes emulate the BMW 5-Series, this Accord EX is a more interesting sight to behold than its base model brother that was wearing a dull silver paint. It appears that despite being an EX model, however, this particular mule is also a four-cylinder model since it's only sporting one tailpipe out back. One interesting styling note a few commenters pointed out on our original spy shots that is even more evident in this new batch is how far out the new Accord's headlights protrude from the body. Looking at the car head on they're not very noticeable, but from a 3/4 perspective one can see how the surface of the front fenders is interrupted by these bug-eye headlights.
It appears that only the V6 models have yet to be snapped, but knowing Priddy and crew, it's only a matter of time.

Regardless of the looks, rest assured, the Accord will always be the best midsize sedan. Period.

Take a look at the other pix. The taillights are like the headlights. Consistently weird.

I've owned quite a few models of the Accord starting in'82. My current is a 2002 V6 automatic; leather and all the rest (all the others were stick 4s). Don't drive so much anymore so I think I'll keep the '02 with only 46K. I like the style, but I'm thinking the changes are going to drive me away should I decide to give up the current ride.

Ugly, that's all I can say. The only Accord that ever looked distinctive was the 1985-1989 when the Accord had those neat pop up headlights on a 4 door car. Why such boring cars??? And also, what ever happened to that great Prelude? Damn that is a car I miss....

Guys, its an Accord. A well-engineered bread and butter mid-size family sedan that's always handled better than a Camry, but still needs to attract about 300 - 400K buyers a year. Most of whom are non-enthusiasts who just want a nice car. Its not going to be an aggressive design. To do so would be suicide on Honda's part. Expect a nicely proportioned, but conventional sedan shape with well-done details and nothing big complain about. Add a nice upscale, if not quite fully luxury interior and impeccable engineering with probably the CR-V 2.4L and a slightly detuned TL 3.5 V6. In other words a nice sedan for people with less knowledge but more sense than us Autoblog readers.

Looks like someone tried to build a 7-series replica on an accord chassis. I'm sure it will be a well made machine, but booooooorrrrrriiinnnngggg. I blame the new regulations in Europe for totally ruining front end styling. And for what? All it does is make sure that a higher percentage of the population lacks the common sense to avoid crossing the street when a car is passing. That and I suppose the mafia will have a more difficult time running people over in a single pass.

suh-nooze! some details look pretty good, but man so boring overall. will honda please start trying again? and that grille? oh, it's so lame. it's so wrong as a corporate grille for honda. angular, boxy, looks like it belongs on a dodge. ugh.

It still looks better than the horrid 03-07 Accord and the disgusting 06 Civic.
The last good Accord sold in the US was the 94-97 model.

#17, accept that everytime a comparison come up, the Honda wins it cause it's the best handling of the bunch. so do some homework first,
now to get on the subject - this is very Nissan Altima meets Sonata adn I don't like it, but I don't like any can Honda makes, they all look ugly as hell(except for the one and only NSX,
and possibly the TL-but FWD keeps that from my top 10 list)

I agree with this post. The Accord can't be too racy or the back seat would be cramped. And Accords are for middle-aged sedan buyers, not younger drivers who are expected to buy Civics instead.
The Accord won't break any new styling ground, but the car will be an elegant and beautifully manufactured car with a first class interior and driving characteristics to match.
The Accord will remain the best choice among mid-sized sedans. It'll be fairly priced and it's resale value will be among the best. That's the way it'll be--just wait and see.

If you want a nice car with good mileage buy a Chevrolet Impala. The Impala is nicer than either the Camry or Accord. The Impala isn`t much larger than these now bloated dinosaurs.
The new Accord will be better looking than the Camry. No one can top Toyota uglyness.

Honda always saves their best designs for the Acura emblem. That being said, the new Accord isn't a bad design - it'll keep selling no matter what we highly opinionated internet experts say or think.
All I want to see is Honda's SH-AWD be a full-trim (EX or Si or SiX?) option across their entire lineup. Then maybe some of their better looking cars (TL, TSX) might be contenders for performance oriented consumers. Hell, if I could buy an AWD turbo Civic, I'd take that over an Impreza. But then again, who am I to lay judgment upon a company that's not going under...

When has the Accord won any designs for ground breaking styling. Everytime there is a subject for Honda. The nut jobs come out and bitch about how boring the designs are from Honda. Most Honda owners are not concerned about design. They want a solid vehicle, great resale value, good gas miliage, andlow emissions. I've owned 2 Accords and they've been great cars. The '98 is probably one their most boring designs. It looks good, runs like new, and in much better shape than several newer cars on the road. Most you people are retards anyway. What do you think about BMW or Audi's designs? You probably bitch about those as well.
