Spy Shots: 2008 Honda Accord EX sedan
It appears Honda had a whole hoard of 2008 Accords out on the roads the other day for spy photogs to catch. The first shots we brough you were of the base four-cylinder 2008 Honda Accord sedan. The latest batch of pics reveals the 2008 Honda Accord EX, the sedan's most uplevel trim. Painted in a deep (and dirty) black sporting alloy wheels that Temple of VTEC believes emulate the BMW 5-Series, this Accord EX is a more interesting sight to behold than its base model brother that was wearing a dull silver paint. It appears that despite being an EX model, however, this particular mule is also a four-cylinder model since it's only sporting one tailpipe out back. One interesting styling note a few commenters pointed out on our original spy shots that is even more evident in this new batch is how far out the new Accord's headlights protrude from the body. Looking at the car head on they're not very noticeable, but from a 3/4 perspective one can see how the surface of the front fenders is interrupted by these bug-eye headlights.
It appears that only the V6 models have yet to be snapped, but knowing Priddy and crew, it's only a matter of time.

Several current designs feature bulbous head and taillights, the Infiniti FX for example. In the Infiniti's case they are not as offensive as photos make them appear.

Looks very 'boxy', a bad inspiration of a Cadillac and a BMW..Honda should come out with a fresh design..like the new civic..
their CRV is a POS ..looks like the new accord is going down the drain too!!
better off with the 2007 model

I'm guessing that they are trying to make it look like the new altima. Not a bad thing.

Is it just me or do the rear wheels look bigger than the fronts

This is design just shows you why there are so many little old ladies driving Honda Accords now .
Like #3 said they should have made it really cutting edge like the Civic.

Wow, Honda really dropped the ball on this one. How comatose would you have to be to buy one of these?

Like the current Accord better...this will resemble too many other brands.....a freshen-up or restyle would have been better to more resemble the newest Civic.

I believe you mean "horde", not "hoard".

hhmmm...looks like a Saturn Aura meets Kia Sedona meets every other sub-$30k sedan on the road.
I'm glad we have to look at this car for another 4-5 years. When are we going to get back to ground breaking DESIGN of the automobile? I mean, does anyone remember the way a Lotus Esprit or mid-90's RX7 used to make you smile everytime you'd see one?? Even Honda's very own 92 Prelude was a wonderful site to see. I just find this Accord iteration boring. I agree with #5.

Very derivative. But then again, I haven't seen a highly attractive Honda product since the original Legend--and that was over 20 years ago.

Wow, nice Saturn... Hard to call the Civic "cutting edge". Ford tried the spaceship econocar with The Probe, it looked much sportier than anything McHonda has every put out and it flopped (could've been the name) - and it at least had a decent interior, unlike the McCivilian. Heck, the Probe drove better than a Civic but still, people seem to prefer cars that look like cars. Right now McHonda seems to think Americans want McBoxy cars or something. Their whole lineup should be scrapped and redone. But then again, just mass-produced econocars...

It's really a shame Honda can't come up with a better looking sedan. If they tried I'm sure they could capture even more of the midsize sedan market. These last two generation Accords leave me high & dry with the styling.

Looks like an Altima mixing with a Camry, should have been a larger Civic. and PLEASE flush those lights! What's with the protruding lights now??!!

anyone think it looks like a lowered ridgeline?
i guess i just don't like the grill on a sedan.

The grill really is odd.
Something just doesn't seem right with this design for Honda. I'm betting the finished product will somehow still look okay. Hoping, at least.

I can come up with a reason why someone would buy a Camry (reputation/quality), Fusion (looks/AWD), new Malibu (interior/powertrain), Sonata (price/options) and Mazda6 (price/handling), but I don't know why someone would buy this.
Perhaps it will win a safety award or something. That's about the only thing the Taurus has going for it and I don't think it's working out too well.

"this particular mule is also a four-cylinder model since it's only sporting one tailpipe out back"
Nothing precludes a 6- or 8-cylinder car from having a single exhaust tip (lots of cars), or a 4-cylinder from having 2 (e. g., Mazda6 i).

They did a good job at keeping the rear of the car current.the tail lights look very much BMW 5 series/ 2008 C class derivative. The beauty of this car will be in the details
