The final theatrical trailer for Michael Bay's Transformers hit the web today. It's lean on plot, and we don't care, because the action sequences are enough to make your eyes melt. We have Bumblebee dishing it out (and taking it on the chin, it appears). There's Starscream performing trick midair transformation acrobatics. And as you see above, there's Optimus Prime getting ready to go kung-fu all over your candy asses. And that's not even the half of it. After all, there's Megan Fox, too.
Best line: "It's probably Japanese."
47 days, kids...
The trailer's embedded after the jump.

Heh, its all right Aprime. With your mention of LP I'm quite worried too =p
ruggels @ May 17th 2007 9:12PM
dude this trailer is fantastic in 1080p. I've upgraded the film from Hulk/Punisher/Daredevil suckitude to Xmen 3 alright entertainment level.

"It's probably Japanese"
Doesn't that speak volumes.
Get moving GM, Ford, and Chrysler.
Phillip @ May 17th 2007 9:22PM
Bleh, its just the preview, thats their current single (sadly, most their new stuff sucks, horribly)
On the good side, the movie looks badass

That's the first time I heard the classic 'transform' sound in the movie :o. Whether it's going to have a decent plot, I dont know, but it is going to be spectacular. I'm just really eager to see it, that's my childhood on the screen there.

This trailer really caught my eye too. Not quite the kids movie I thought it would be. Much more Terminator-3 than saturday morning cartoons. Count me in to see it!
"It's probably Japanese"
I don't think Asimo has the flying thing down yet. It is still working on stairs. Now when Honda makes an Asimo type robot that will convert into an S2000 for my commute to work then transform to cook and clean for me when I get home, you can count me in.

Anyone else notice the final shot with optimus on the freeway, how his wheels spin via the inertia of his leg moving, man, the more i watch this, the more i focus on the cgi, the more i feel less skeptical. I don't care if it has the typical bay plot holes the size of a semi truck, visually it's spectacular.
Chet @ May 17th 2007 10:43PM
"It's probably Japanese" -- because they've built some press-hogging ROBOTS. Really, quit with the GM-bashing... or the Transformers just might pay you a visit. Moving on...
So what if it's got plot holes big enough for a truck to drive through... it's got the truck, too!
The CGI is amazing. Even seen frame-by-frame in high-definition. Plus, there's no shortage of actual stuff getting actually blown to actual smithereeens.
When I saw this trailer, I turned 14 again. Cars and jets and giant robots and explosions and Megan Fox... suweet!

I think my jaw just dropped. I'm predicting a Titanic buster or a top ten grossing movie of all time.
GOT @ May 18th 2007 12:07AM
SWEET! I wanna see it!

"It's probably Japanese"
This in a movie in which the cars and aircraft and military equipment are all American?
Can't wait to see this movie though.

I am so torn on this one.
Transformers = old school awesome
Michael Bay = over-the top, cheesy, commercialized films
(think armageddon, pearl harbor, bad boys, etc)
His idea of action is usually "flash lights, and shake the hell out of the camera" *sigh* I hope he does this right.
teknokracy @ May 18th 2007 4:48AM
its ok #16, he's got spielbergo watching over him...
does anyone else wish they were releasing that camaro as a tie-in to the movie?
I'd buy one. Really, I would.
emor8t @ May 18th 2007 6:53AM
Pass.
EM @ May 18th 2007 6:54AM
Or what I should say is, looks like a renter.
Tommy @ May 18th 2007 8:13AM
OMG This is going to be so awesome!!!
Then again, that's the same thing I said when I saw the trailer to Pearl Harbor
