Honda applies Type R brand to child safety

In Japan, Honda markets a line of child safety seats through its dealer network, and today comes word that the automaker's going to leverage its well-known "Type R" brand for a limited-edition kiddie seat. Limited to just 300 units, the seat, as you would likely expect, is done in black and red. The main seating surface is covered in a perforated red fabric, while the side bolsters use a black suede-type material. An embroidered Type R logo is featured prominently across the top. The exclusivity comes at a steep price: ¥44,100 ($366 USD). The regular version of the seat it's based on goes for just ¥13,650 ($113 USD) by comparison.[Source: Honda via Carview]

Dude that's cool. Maybe they could add a toy steering wheel and stick shifter.

Expect the following to appear in Consumer Reports when it becomes available Stateside: "The Honda Type-R child safety seat, though expensive, represents the best-in-class combination of value and safety, by virtue of being a Honda. Only a Toyota child safety seat would rank higher in our ratings."

Perfect for the children who drive these things - hope it comes with a bib and pacifier.

The only things missing are:
1. Type R decal for your rugrat's forehead
2. Type R diapers(hey, kids fill 'em up fast, so why not?)
So how long before we see these things at Autozone?
