In the TV series, these cars were being trashed and required nine(I believe) for all the episodes.  I imagine they all just got a quick paint job and not much more. John had this one done in 1997 on his own, and has used it for fun and promotional purposes since then.<br><br>Over 300 '69 Chargers were used in the original series which ended in 1985.  All but about 5 or 6 of the Chargers were used as stunt cars--painted the Gen. Lee colors and used for the jumps.  One jump almost always ruined the car by deforming the suspension & frame.  They would then be stripped of usable parts and crushed.  Production had their own Gen. Lee bodyshop which steadily pumped out Gen. Lee cars during shooting.
