VIDEO: Carrera GT, MC12, SLR in Italy - what's not to like?

We'll keep this simple: three of the world's finest supercars in one of the world's best supercar playgrounds. The hardcore action doesn't go much beyond each car getting a solo peelout. However, each machine does get plenty of individual, loving, lifestyle-themed attention. And the sights and sounds -- ah, sehr gut and che bella. Enjoy the video after the jump.

Man, the sound of the Carrera GT is awesome! That is a 40 valve flat 10, correct?
Anyone know of more video where you can hear that engine?

Flat 10? Can you imagine how much room that would take up! "If you didn't mid throwing away your passenger seat you could have a marvelous flat 10 powering your new Carrera GT". Well I suppose the car is for the driver not the passenger, therefore I propose someone build this flat 10 into a modern supercar!
Don't anyone dare try and name a car with a flat 10 because there is nothing similar size wise, performance wise, or comparable in any way to the Carrera GT that has a flat 10.

Three kings of sports cars? Considering this video is made in Italy I am very surprised to find one major sports car manufacturer not included in the trio...
Sure the MC12 is Ferrari sourced, but c'mon Maserati is a prince by blood only at best...Ferrari is king, hell the MC12 is Enzo based.

I couldn't help but notice that the first two "up-beat" snippets of background music are from the newest Prodigy album, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned. One of my personal favorites. I only wish this side of the pond would catch up with the rest of the world in music...and cars. btw, I'll take the SLR, love that rumble.

A boxing 10 would be even firing, that V10 is odd firing. 68 degree V angle, so firing isn't every 72 degrees, it is close though. 68,76 repeat
The enzo (maserati) is odd firing also 65,55

Ferrari utilized flat-12s for quite a while...

#5 james, I think you are thinking of a "Strait" Engine. You might want to take a look at this link

Ferrari utilized 180 degree V12s for quite a while.
A boxing engine is a 180 degree Vee engine, with a 180 degree split of the crankshaft journals. (with our without extra bearings to support the crankshaft-Honda Goldwing, only 4 main bearings)

How much longer would a boxing 10 be over a V10, 2 inches if they were to use 11 main bearings.
