America's Game, America's Truck: Rawlings baseball trim for Chevy trucks
Remember when Audi rolled out the baseball leather interior on the original TT convertible? That was nothing. For the real baseball fans, aftermarket trim specialists Katzkin Leather and sports equipment outfitter Rawlings have teamed up to offer a full, authentic baseball trim package for full-sized Chevy trucks.
The package includes seats upholstered in thick, rich baseball glove leather, in either brown or black – complete with contrasting stitching – that only gets better with age. You know, just like your childhood mitt. Also part of the package are a baseball bat ash wood dash inserts and steering wheel trimmed in leather to match the seats. A special grille was designed to mimic the look of a chain-link fence, and the package is rounded out by Rawlings badges galore.
The package just hit the market and is available for Chevrolet Silverado pickups and Tahoe SUVs. Only in America, kids.

Not too shabby...real wood in a Chevy truck? But if it actually does represent "Americas sport" shouldn't that be pigskin/ football leather on the seats?

Nice. I am surprised Ford has not done something like this other than their usual King Ranch and so forth. Maybe they will use the football theme.

My mit got rather nasty in a short period of time. I sure wouldn't want my interior made of the same stuff.

If Gm is on the ball, they'll already have a partner lined up for the football version.

Jaymez I highly doubt this with be used to catch balls in dirt, grass, mud, water or any other element. Duh.

Bryan, perhaps Jaymez is upset because this isn't a Tundra, Titan, or Ram option. This leather will be fine if taken care of properly. The Ford King Ranch is the closest leather interior to this and it looks good too!

What? I drive a Silverado. Vinyal is the only way to go when it comes to seats for a truck.

#8 "i still don't know how baseball wound up as 'america's sport' "
WHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA? Why do you people keep asking that? Are you f*ckin' retarded? Baseball has always been America's Sport. Only people who live in the DustBowl think football is America's sport. Everyone else knows it's baseball.
Baseball, apple pie and Chevy's. Get with it.

Mike, where do you live? Must be a big baseball city.
Football is America's sport. Right on.

I like this baseball one. Here's the football version-

Jaymez, my appologies. Vinyl is very durable for work trucks but leather has that aroma. Leather is durable, but will look shabby if treated like the vinyl in my work trucks.
Mike, I'm not saying baseball wasn't "Americas Sport" at one point in the past... it was indeed! But many polls now suggest that football (not Soccer) is the preferred sport for most Americans.

Sorry, Audi got there first with the TT concept, brought to production. My son had one. Quite a vision. Then, Mazda picked up the combination of dark gray mica with saddle brown color leather in the SP23, on the 3 hatch.

Great idea, Chevy. I mean, I dunno much about how glove leather interiors will hold up to sweat, coffee stains, jabs from tools and that sort of thing, but it's a great idea.

I WANT ONE! All it needs is a St. Louis Cardinals logo and it's perfect. I wonder if you can have them add a team logo on the doors or tailgate.

Only the USA has a world Series. Maybe your dads and grandfathers would be appalled to learn, the event and hotdogs were not your favorite. So will GM.

The Chevy Silverado really isn't America's truck because it still trails the Ford F-series in sales.

why not the LS2/LS7? 10:36PM (4/22/2007)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Formula_One_World_Drivers'_Champions
FIA awards a "World Drivers Championship". It's only available to Formula 1 drivers. Presumptive?
And this isn't the only example like this.
So all you foreigners who want to bitch about the World Series can take a flying leap.
This interior is nice and all, but Audi did it about 5 years ago, so it's not really fresh. They should have done the Levi's interior like AMC did. They could outfit it with real Levi's denim from Bangledesh.

why not the LS2/LS7, good job, you linked a site that actually showed information for the "World Drivers Championship." Funny thing is that more than one country parcipates in that one unlike the world series. But that was a rather good try at an analogy.

$4 a Gallon of Gasoline this summer according to Bloomberg news report http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20670001&refer=news&sid=afOlUzd30YOo
Hey AutoBlog, AutoBlog Readers, and critics... how about doing a poll or an action call in to our elected leaders and demand answers on why Petroleum Companies have NOT BUILT A NEW REFINERY IN 30 YEARS?
And... AutoBlog... how about doing a report on how many refineries have been SHUT DOWN as a result of all of the MAJOR CONSOLIDATION of these OIL COMPANIES over the last 10 years.
Reading this report with General Motors branding with Baseball Glove makers for custom interiors is a great idea... BUT WHO CAN AFFORD THESE FREAKING VEHICLES at $3 a gallon.... let alone $4 a gallon this summer?
