VIDEO: AMG CLK 63 Black Edition in the flesh

When we first saw the CLK 63 AMG Black Edition at the New York Auto Show, we were sold on the looks alone. While its appearance defines menacing, after a quick check of the spec sheet, the depth of meanness of this super Benz far exceeds its well-adorned skin. A 6.2-liter, 507 HP V8, composite brakes, huge air intakes, and no back seat makes for a blunt-force object rivaled by few on this planet. A top speed of 186 MPH and 0-60 in 4.1 seconds confirms that this is yet another bad-ass AMG.

Doesn't matter, it will never sell in the US, at least, not in that configuration. If Porsche, Lambo and AUDI cannot sell one piece seats in their cars, then it is unlikley that MBUSA was able to convince the US Gov, to let them. Pudgy americans need more air bags and idiot sensors built into the seat to protect them or rather, protect the car company from lawsuits. Yet one more great car US drivers are denied, curtosy of our federal gov't and our legal system.
I heard the US gov't was going to mandate the all cars sold in the US come with 4 part external airbag and snesors in cars for drivers to verify that they are actually alive.

Chris ,
Doesn't the Saleen S7 have one-piece seats?
I love every bit of this automobile—from beginning to end.

#7: Specialty car? When production is HIGHLY limited, there seems to be wiggle room. Also, manufacturers can get waivers for limited production that extend out for a couple years.
#9: EXACTLY! And it starts, there is another incremental 150 pounds.... now what else did they do? Add a sunroof?, remove a steering wheel.. who knows!
#10: You clearly have no idea what your talking about.
