For European consumption: Jag rumored to give XK a heart transplant

Jaguar has generally only sent better equipped versions of their models to the US market, reserving smaller engines for the European market where high gas prices have made them more appealing. That pattern looks set to continue with a new entry level version of the XK. The 3.5L version of Jaguar's V-8 engine that is available in the XJ in some European countries is likely to be installed in the coupe and convertible.
The smaller engine is expected to put 256hp and have an exhaust system tuned to provide a sportier sound for the GT even with the seven second 0-62 MPH acceleration. The new model will probably only be available in Germany, Portugal, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg and come in at about €10,000 less than the 4.2L version.

#1: NO NO NO. No Jag fan would ever make a statement like that. Jags are supposed to be fast-backed with long hoods to fit those supercharged V8's and hopefully one day soon V10's and V12's. A tiny, sporty Jag would completely toss their image.
The only thing Jag needs to do is update their styling slightly and stop trying to make mid-ranged cars. Put leather and walnut and carbon fiber and lambs wool on the inside and for Gods sake: SUPERCHARGE EVERYTHING JAG!!!!!

I agree with #2, all except a V10. Keep it V8 and V12.

Nonsense, they need to go back to big straight sixes. Preferably supercharged too!

As much as I agree with #2 and #3, I would like to see a return to heritage, like a modern day XK120. The current coupe/conv has no real heritage.
