Over the past year, we like to think that the quality of Autoblog's photography has increased considerably. We've learned a few new tricks, played around with settings and finally understood that lighting is a black art. But, before we could get cocky, something like this comes around and puts up right back in our place.
Winding Road put together its favorite 25 images of the last year (or so) and anyone that can appreciate the collaboration between stunning settings and sensual sheet metal should feel compelled to check it out. Each image is available in desktop-size format (we've got one on our screen now) and it's well worth the time to read through the short descriptions, detailing the who and the how. The only negative is finding only one to grace your screen.

These are amazing. The LP640 gets first crack at my desktop, but the scenery from the BMW 335 is just overwhelming. Makes me long for the country.

Holy crap! I need to go change my underwear...

Your photography has gotten better. Still could use a bit of improvement on the low light shots taken in car shows, but thats tricky as is. But definitly gettin better, both as just shots of the car, and when yall try gettin creative. Like on the GNX's side vents.
Ive got some pics on my DA, perticuraly the ones of the 68 Murc Cougar are my favorite. Try things like standing back, and zooming in when you can. Then get close and take the same pic. Notice how the perspective is different, Makes a cooool difference.

Thanks Philip, we've really tried to improve on our photography over the last year. Most of the team now has a DSLR camera and we all practice often to get the hang of manual controls. Auto shots are always tricky since the light changes from step to step, but hopefully we'll be able to put together a year in review for our own photography soon, as well.

Does anyone know if the photographer of the Audi R10, Richard Prince, is that same as the famous Richard Prince. It doesn't seem like it is his style of photography but I'm just curious.

Nevermind, it's not the same person.

The problem with winding road is that they're a bunch of MORONS who write crap like "the next S2000 will be fwd and seat 4" and "the Supra is coming back".
Are they pushing for hype and attention or just stupid? I don't know, but either way, I haven't got an ounce of respect for them, and neither should anyone else who enjoys facts and reality.

Lucky for me I have dual display so I have the 335i and the LP460

Try a virtual desktop manager. MS's is decent: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Thanks for the shots.

Your welcome John. Man, I wish I had DSLR's...

Is it just me or is that Martyn Goddard picture of the Mazdaspeed3 absolutely awful in comparison to the other pictures? Anyone with a $50 digital camera can take that same picture by moving the camera side to side while taking it...
The other pictures on his site seem similarly unimpressive.

David E. Davis, Jr. is a genius for starting Winding Road.
