The RAV4, FJ Cruiser, and to a lesser extent the new Highlander all exhibit these stupid massive C-pillars where there should be glass. What exactly are the designers trying to accomplish? "Streets are becoming more congested and dangerous, so let's make it as difficult as possible for the driver to see who's coming up on his hindquarters!" Something like that.

bmoredlj

Comments on

Nice but i rather see a new AE86.

stefan

Comments on

It does look less like a wheeled toaster, but for some reason really sends off a previous gen VW Golf flavor. Halogen headlights, a 4-speed auto, 158 horsepower out of a 2.4, MacPherson struts up front and a torsion bar out back. I just think this might be my next car.

Seriously though, I actually do prefer the styling of my toaster. It has a pretty aerodynamic looking jet-black "fairing" on it to keep you from burning your hands on hot metal. And 16K + for an auto version? These are folks who want more 'show' than 'go' with their car, which probably suits their parents just fein.

Hopefully the fuel mileage will remain as high as the current gen xB. Yeah you are getting more for it, but the point was (at least I thought) that you could get basic transportation for a cheap price. Now your getting more then you need (honestly the old engine wasnt anything to brag about but it got you from point A to point B). I could understand if they made the bigger engine an option. But making it standard and raising the price seems to me at least to be going against the original goals...

MikeUF

Comments on

The original xB struck me off as an Element rip and now the new one strikes me as a miniature Honda Crossroad rip.
