New York Preview: Infiniti EX Concept interior photos released

Click for high-res photo gallery
We somehow missed these when they first came across, but Infiniti has released photos of the New York-bound EX Concept's interior. As you might have expected, it's quite attractive, and the concept-only liquid crystal roof is neato. We're sure that some of the materials and/or colors used are exclusive to the concept, but otherwise, this is, in all likelihood, the cabin that will greet buyers when the car lands in dealerships later this year. There are a few more angles to be seen in the gallery, all sized nice and large for your viewing pleasure. We'll have tons of coverage on the EX from New York later this week.

I hope this makes it into production. I could live without the illuminated headrests though. But I like everything else. Especially the panorama moonroof. Nice touch.

The interior looks great. Looks so cozy and comfortable, it is definitely going to look much different then anything we have seen in a car or SUV. I also like the panatomic looking glass roof.

Well this is an almost completely predictable approach by Infiniti. For upon hearing Infiniti was planning a brother to the at least bit odd FX35/45, I immediately pictured something to the effect of this concept car. For the lines are wavy and the car looks fat and not particularly athletic. Additionally, I think it’s safe to say that this is no revolutionary approach by Infiniti. Which is of course fine. But I would wish for the company to at least try to surprise the public with a truly different, but handsome, SUV...or whatever three-letter acronym Infiniti chooses to call the FX line.
The interior, however, is nice and seems to have been conceived of a bevy of rich materials and first-rate craftsmanship. In particular, I admire the shaded roof touch along with the appropriate central stack, in attractive black trim. The steering wheel, however, hints at gimmick status (especially in and SUV!) as there appears to be ample legroom to not warrant that “race-inspired” fad. The push button start ignition is also old in my view and I genuinely abhor the curvy nature of the side dash and the door. For it looks as if the car was involved in a premature accident and it kind of gets me noxious by looking at the sight. The air vents, as well, need change to a more traditional look in my view. Boring man. Just about absolutely nothing to talk about.

You sound like one of those people who likes to hear themselves talk (and apparently type too)
It's a nice looking car, the interior looks pretty sharp although almost a little too slick for an SUV. My guess is that they will undercut the X3 and RX330 by at least $3-5K, the performance will equal the X3, and that's it.

The Infiniti EX interior is visually stunning. The graceful flow of the dash and center console, the high-end look of the materials and fit, and the overall design are so good that Infiniti should extend this theme/style into its other cars as soon as possible. Of note are the illuminated headrests. Interior cabin lighting in most cars is either non-existent or harsh. The EX illuminated headrests on the other hand are beautiful, soft and clearly placed. Another poster complained about the headrests, but I think they are a defining interior design feature and hope they remain on the production model. If the production version looks like this concept vehicle, I'll pre-order the car without even a test drive!
