Great pictures but in person the Volvo C30 looks even better. I saw this car at the LA Auto show and fell in love with it immediately. It reminds me of the Renault R5 from the back with its huge hips.

Do you think that when this is released it is going to become a bit of a chick car? Will it surpass the Mini as the hot car to be seen in if you have a vage?

Im sorry to say, but this car looks FUGLY in the back. But looks ok in the front and sides. I personally think that you can get a WAY better offer at Volkswagen (THEY WILL EAT THIS CAR ALIVE!!!) or even Mini. I think volvo will be targeting the young and females... Because it doesnt exactly look... Manly... but what volvo does?

This has nothign to do with the car; frankly the c30 doesnt really pique my interest (its a really solid car, but if im going to give up performance, i'd personally rather have it be for economy rather than safety) but the picture on the front was edited really oddly; the shot was taken from a distance, but they blurred out the background to draw focus on the car, which happens alot, but this was kind of sloppy. you can clearly see the tree in the immediate background going out of focus - which wouldnt have happenned in an unedited photo. again, sorry for the offtopic post

Yeah, lots of photos, but none of the back seat or cargo area. Come on!

When I first heard about the C30, I got excited. As a Volvo and hatchback fan, I thought "what could be better?" but then I saw one in person. The rear loading height is way too high to be very helpful. Try again, Volvo!

I don't know about the chick car comment... I guess you could say that... but if you see a chick driving a bannana yellow H2 Hummer, does that make it a chick car too?
More intresting is If the C30 is going to get the S40 T5's AWD and 6 speed manual attached to the 5 cylinder turbo. This make it a vary intresting car considering what performance advantage not present normaly in the hatchback market.
Of course, the S40 T5 costs about 29000 bare boned.... So any performance advantage is quickly lost when compaired to Pontiac Solstice, or Subaru WRX.

This would look great if it weren't for all of that awful black plastic cladding. It really cheapens the car.

Very nice, but unless they can sell it for under 25K it will be too expensive for most of its target market.

Cheezedog: It will be getting the 6 speed manual, but unfortunately it looks like only FWD is available. They have most of the specs up at Volvo Canada's site...

Why would anybody want a hatch that small? I'd park it at the curb as a mailbox for packages.

"10. Why would anybody want a hatch that small? I'd park it at the curb as a mailbox for packages."
Fuel efficiency, easy to navigate in traffic, easy to park in small spaces. Not everybody feels the needs to compensate something with an H2...

It's a cool little car... too bad it's not RWD, otherwise I'd get it. Nice original styling.
Folkswagon? ah please... I don't want to spend all my weekends at the dealer getting it fixed. And since when was the golf a manly car? It's almost as much a chic car as the beetle.... you go buy it and be a girlymaaaaaaan *arnold's accent* !

It is a nice car but I agree with grumbles black plastic is just cheap. Does it really cost that much more to paint? My #1 complaint about my current F150.

Anybody else sick of trying to keep track of all the number combos that manufacturers give cars? If you had told me that you bought a Volvo C30 I would have figured it was an SUV.
For the price it would need to be pretty damn convincing of a drive.

Bad placement of the filler-flap release underneath the headlight dial.
