Spy Shots: Mitsubishi EVO X

Hot on the heels of Mr. Baines' video of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X hitting the streets, one of the photogs under the employ of our favorite snapper, Brenda Priddy, was able to catch the new EVO during a rare stationary moment.

As expected, there is little to distinguish this prototype from the concepts we've seen in the past. The gaping maw is flanked by large side intakes, sporting fog lamps, while the rear wing sprouts up from the camo-clad trunk lid. It's hard to discern through the covering whether or not the blistered fenders are as chunky as the IX's are, but judging by the concept, they'll be less angular and more integrated.

With a new 2.0L turbo, a thoroughly reworked all-wheel-drive setup and more electronic gadgetry than the Hubble, we're salivating at the hoonage potential of the next iteration of the EVO. And yes, it will be relevant, thank you very much.
