Ford to offer "Warriors in Pink" L.E. Mustang
With two new special edition Mustangs due out later this year, including the Bullitt, Ford has seen fit to add another exclusive stallion into the mix – this time for a good cause. The "Warriors in Pink" trim package is being designed in partnership with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and will be built to order, complete with pink exterior stripes and interior stitching. The models will only be offered with a V6, in either coupe or convertible styles, and black will be the primary exterior color choice. The move to offer another limited edition 'Stang is in an effort to stem a tide of slow sales by making an attempt to bring women into the showroom. Some view this as a positive, while others believe that it has the ability to dilute the Mustang brand.
Regardless, a portion of the profits will be given to the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, whose primary goal is to increase awareness, research funding and treatment of the disease.

I think it's a good idea. Anything that helps this cause is a plus. Since the pink paint can is open, I guess a Mary Kay version would not be far behind then?

I thought there were already a lot of women driving Mustangs... I mean, good cause and all, but it just doesn't seem very necessary if that's their goal.

Yes, but will there be a Renaultsport F1 'stang? IF not, I am not interested.

I know Mustang sales are off significantly but what hasn't been mentioned is that sales are off across the board for most manufacturers in January and February. Just about the entire Northeast US was shut down with those blizzards. And who in their right mind would buy a RWD car when going through that weather.
Mustang sales may indeed be softening, but IMO those two particular months are not exactly indicative of it. However if sales continue to slide over the next couple of months, then it is time to worry...
As for the SBK 'Stang. Ford should do it. As stated earlier, the V6 is pretty much loved by women to begin with.
Now bring me my friggin Bullitt ;)

I'm glad Ford is doing this. Sure, they have alot of special edition Mustangs, but who cares. If it keeps sales up, while giving profits to a breast cancer center, go for it. I'm glad Ford is a big sponsor in the fight against breast cancer.
Now baout Mustang sales. It has only been 2 months in the year. Wait until the warm months come when people will but convertibles and RWD cars, then we will see how the sales are.

I wasn't sure if or even how I was going to respond to this, then it hit me. Isn't Mercury the brand Ford is pitching heavily to women? Why not do this S.G.K. limited edition up right...with a pink Mariner? A pink and green Mariner hybrid? Or, a pink Montego if the aim is to help a cause PLUS increase sales for a slow selling model.
My sister used to drive a Mustang, a silver one, but she traded it in for a Prius. I doubt a pink ANYTHING would appeal all that much to her and many other women. But hey, it helps give FoMoCo a way to work a good cause into some sales.

I think it is a great idea for a great cause. People need to stop the bashing of Ford it is just really old. They donate a lot of money to a lot organizations. Lots of people like mustangs, male and female, and this is a great way for women to get two things they like. A mustang, and their cause all in one package, not to mention the donations coming from the cars. This is a good thing and I applaud Ford for taking a huge interest.

Ford's offered Mustangs in at least two different shades of pink before (Playboy Pink and Dusk Rose during the '60s), and it didn't seem to do much to "dilute the brand." Ford's been a supporter of the Susan G. Komen foundation for a long time now, and it's great to see them continue that commitment.

I can't be the only one laughing that the ultimate chick car is only going to have a V6

Way to go Ford, that is a great foundation to promote. As a female GT driver, I have to disagree with the pink trim package only being offered in a 6. It's just not right...
