Suzuki at Geneva

Geneva was a quiet show for Suzuki, as the most impactful vehicle on display, the SX4 sedan, is something we've all seen already. Still, we have to say that as hatchbacks-turned-notchbacks go, we like the way the 4-door looks with its new protruding booty. The SX4 sedan gets the same powerplant as its hatchback brother, but will be offered in a front-wheel-drive config as well. Generally, sedan versions of hatchbacks don't fare so well in the looks department (see Nissan Versa), but between this new Suzuki and the recently-introduced Astra four-door, there's reason to be optimistic that the days of the ugly small sedan are waning. We'll wait and see.
Among the vehicles joining the SX4-door on the stand was the WRC Concept version of the hatch, a Swift Group N rally car, and the Lambo-doored Swift Sport seen above.

Generally I would not like a Suzuki in any iteration, and it holds true up until the WRC prototype...that's pretty hot, but then again I think I'm just partial to that look.

Those two hatches are awesome! I'd love to have a SX4-Rally-Concept-Sport. Mean looking and capable compact.

Does anyone actually aspire to own a Suzuki car? They more seem like the bargain basement kind that kids get stuck with in high school.

Maybe the Suzuki of 10 years ago???? The current Suzuki cars are winning awards all over the world and in many countries taking titles like Car of the Year 2005, 2006, 2007. In several countries in Europe as well as Australia and New Zealand, Suzuki's ie.. the new Swift and new SX4 have been recongnized as being all in all better than what toyota, honda, etc.. have available in the same catagory.
Bottom line is... Suzuki is the fastest growing Japanese car brand in the USA and has been so for the past 5 years. Suzuki is also the ONLY brand of car to be posting double digit increases in car sales several years running.
So who aspires to own one? I guess the numbers speak for themselves ;)
