Geneva Motor Show: Toyota brings the anti-matte

We've already shown you the preferred finish on a few of the cars at this year's Geneva Motor Show, but Toyota decided to take a different tack when displaying their Auris sub-compact. The chromed out two-door sat atop a pedestal for all to gaze on, providing the vain among us to check our hair and grimace at the dark bags that formed underneath our eyes. Jetlag is a terrible, terrible thing. Thankfully, someone was on hand to keep us caffeinated.

It si a good thing it was not outside in the sunlight, or it would have blinded everyone. There are just no good words to describe this thing though, but it does prove that no matter how much chrome the Detroit Big Three slap on a concept vehicle, Toyota will always have the prize for most chromed out vehicle on the planet. I wonder if any rap stars would be interested in this car as their personal ride.

That looks like the liquid terminator from T2 trying to change into a car.

Capt Kaos... I'm laughing...good analogy.
I like it for a show car. But man imagine the wrecks from the sun's reflection or reflecting the surroundings.
"Honest officer, I never saw him coming!"

It's the Toyota Avus!!
Still wish Audi would have built that concept! It was my dream car growing up and 16 years later it's still looks modern. This, on the other hand, looks like some sort of toaster... Still pretty cool as a concept though, especially for a Toyota.

LOL, Agent MOO!
How many new Tundras will be forced into base-model ignominy because of the chrome shortage caused by that thing?
The horror... the horror...

Jaguar displayed a chromed version of their xtype at the British Motor Show back in 2000. I can just see this becoming all the rage with the rice boys - chrome rims and chrome body work.
Must be a bitch to keep clean though!

Andyk - you just gave me a thought. How much chrome polish does Mother's sell these guys?

Don't forget the "Type R" stickers, the green LED-equipped windshield wipers, and the six-inch fartcan exhaust!

Shouldn't the bumpers, wheels, and logos be painted?
