Nonetheless, I disagree with you Testa di Cazzo, on some levels, as I think that this car looks gorgeous. Sure the headlamps caught me off guard a bit, and the tail lamps need work in my judgment, nonetheless the presence, the curves, and the general aura of a Maserati are all present in this automobile, in my view.

Carletti

Comments on Geneva Motor Show: Maserati GranTurismo debut

by the way carletti, don't pay any attention to accordsforall... this guy thinks accord = cutting edge design. he clearly isn't well equipped to judge beauty...

he insults the brunette in the picture, but i'm pretty sure he's never even spoken to a women that pretty. hah!

testa di cazzo

Comments on Geneva Motor Show: Maserati GranTurismo debut

Am I the only person too freaked out about her teeth to pay attention to the car? :(

Mat

Comments on Geneva Motor Show: Maserati GranTurismo debut

My husband and brother-in-law are drooling over that baby, but I can't figure out if it's the car or the model. ;)

Jenn

Comments on Geneva Motor Show: Maserati GranTurismo debut

Absolutely a stunning and beautiful car. Maserati, in my view, makes the most beautiful cars in the world. Only on Autoblog would there be people mindless and downright stupid enough to criticize the styling of a Maserati. Are we looking at the same car? If you can pull a comparison on the front end of this with the IS, then you could probably pull a comparison between all front ends of all cars...perhaps you mean to say that the similarities are so obvious; I mean, they kept the front on the front, right? And the headlights...woah baby! I was really looking to Maseratti to pull of some real innovation here. Personally, I was hoping for headlights that were placed midship and shaped to form a double-helix! I can't believe they'd be so bold as to use a headlight design that looks like...what? headlights? Get out! When it comes to spending my cash, I'm certainly taking the Altima Coupe over this outrageous design catastrophe!

Glad we can all agree on the brunette at least :)

cgr

Comments on Geneva Motor Show: Maserati GranTurismo debut

It's a low-volume sports car with its own very unique, and strong identity. Its not intent is not to be easy on the eye, it is supposed to challenging. You want subtle styling then go for a Porsche, which in itself is a 100% good purchase. But for those who want different, I'd go with GT. I think it is very classy, especially in darker colors, and it would look at home parked at Casino Square in Monaco next to an Aston Martin.

I think driving enthusiasts who like class will buy this car, these are same people prefer Aston Martin to a Ferrari. I don't see playboys, sports stars, or rappers getting out of their Ferraris, Lambos, or Bentleys buying the Maser GT, which is good.

Keep in mind I am not knocking Ferrari...I have tremendous respect for that brand, but Maserati has more class, which was the intent of their overall owner, Fiat, to distinguish both brands.

Rodion

Comments on Geneva Motor Show: Maserati GranTurismo debut

"its not intent is not to be easy on the eye, it is supposed to challenging."

Right, and why? Because the 8C, which shares the platform, already has that covered in achingly gorgeous detail. Sorry but I'm with the topgear boys on this one, it's a step forward but it's not achingly gorgeous like it's platform-mate... which is unfortunate. elegant can be gorgeous, just look at the AMV8.

ruggels

Comments on Geneva Motor Show: Maserati GranTurismo debut

Oh Ruggels I agree. I love the Maserati GT, but I'm even more taken by 8C Competizione. That car is a timeless classic, a collectors item. Only 500 are built and all 500 are spoken for! 100 have been allocated for US by 2009. www.evo.co.uk has an article on it. Should be brilliant to drive. But I refuse to compare these cars, they are fantastic in their own ways in their respective price ranges of course.

Rodion
