I've never been a big Toyota fan but I agree with the idea that they are trying to set these cars apart so they continue to appear to be on the leading edge of hybrid or alt fuel vehicles. Whether you like it or not I'm pretty sure it will go farther on a tank of gas than 95% of the cars on the road and it still seats 4 adults comfortably. Congrats to the French designers (apparently the only ones that can come up with something this cohesive--we've all ignored French auto design too long.)  It looks producible in almost this form which would in both form and function make nearly everything on the road appear regressive and mundane. I hope this is a JDM design, I'm not so sure it's going to go over well here.
