What's good about making hundreds of thousands of E85 capable vehicles if consumers have nowhere to fill them up at? With GM, Ford and Chrysler all selling E85-capable vehicles, and advertising them heavily, it makes sense that they would want owners of said vehicles to use it. So, to that end, GM is partnering with the state of Colorado to add 40 new E85 refueling stations to the 13 that are already in operation in Colorado.

Some statistics from the article I got this information from:

  • There are 6,000,000 E85 capable vehicles on the road in the U.S. today
  • 800 of 170,000 gas stations in the U.S. offer E85
  • There are about 100 ethanol facilities producing nearly 5 billion gallons of the fuel annually
