And all due to poor inventory control between the time the 2006 and 2007 models were made... what a shame. If the guy that ran the Chrysler Group's production forecasting and inventory control systems ran those at Hewlett-Packard or Wal-Mart, he would have been fired before it would have took place.
BTW, I actually drove past a huge site where Chrysler was holding vehicles next to a truck stop when leaving Belleville, Illinois in December. Sure enough, there were thousands of Chrysler/Dodge minivans and Dodge Ram pickups built at the nearby St. Louis assembly plant, waiting to be shipped to dealers once their inventory was under control. And, of course, there was a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer less than 2 miles away.
