A limousine is reserved for a special day, for when you want to arrive at the big event in style. If you're like the Autoblog gang and you want to stand out from the rest, then the Town Car or stretch HUMMER just isn't going to cut it. If your main goal in life is to combine a limo experience coupled with low coefficients of drag then this RX7 has it all. Twin-turbo rotary engine, aerospace composite materials, and a power side door all scream "I'm different and I'm proud!" So what if it doesn't have a bar, you can spend your time listening to that 1.3L rotary gem. OK, maybe the light weight racing suspension and roll bars is overdoing it, but if you want exclusive, you've got exclusive.
The vehicle has 60,000 miles on it, but the engine only has 12,000. It's nice to know too that someone was so passionate about this vehicle they felt the need to pour over $170,000 into it. Current bid price is $27,500. Happy bidding!
Thanks for the tip, Fashnootin!

...and probably the only limo out there with a manual tranny.
That said, I predict the auction closes with no bids.

Here I am thinking i've seen it all.
I'm pretty sure someone can top this with a Miata limo.

$170K? Are you kidding me? No way, I want receipts.
If this ID10T actually spent $170K then he was taken on quite a ride involving many trips to the ATM. Tell him to give me a call, I would love to help him with is next project. I have no idea what he might want, but I bet I can get it built for the bargain price of only $150K!!!!

Isn't that a Miata?
matteo @ Feb 12th 2007 3:17PM
oh, never mind, it's an RX-7. The uglyness blinded me for a moment.
James @ Feb 12th 2007 3:38PM
Shit they fucked up a perfectly good car. Just so not to stupid limos.
Max @ Feb 12th 2007 3:39PM
This guy was trying to get $60k for it on Autotrader (unsuccessfully.)
With no windows, I think this car is more suitable as a hearse than a limo. Which may not help, because I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing.

AN ANSWER TO A SOCIAL ISSUE:
WHAT LIMO DO LITTLE PEOPLE USE ON PROM NIGHT?
Much more flattering than a Hummer stretch.

Just a comment on 'hondaacura' fanboi's remark: You meant to say 'pass' not 'past'. You don't 'past' on something. God honda fans are dumb.

Great Fleabay listing marketing angle - touting the performance stats of a stock RX-7 - how does that relate to this money pit vehicle? I would love to see them take it through a curve @ 60 MPH and watch the rear shear off and somersault down the road. If you spent 170 Large on this would you even admit it?
Uhh... @ Feb 12th 2007 5:39PM
what a waste!
aqeel @ Feb 12th 2007 5:47PM
This is how you waste an RX-7!!!

Phil, on Viva La Bam, the character Ryan Dunn had a tricked out, blown, nitrous-ed limo with a stickshift in it as well... he raced the Bamborghini in the 1/4.
Although I suppose that still only makes two stick chift limos :/

Ruining perfectly cool cars by turning them into hideous, rediculous, eye-sores should be illegal.
