Nissan GTR spotted Stateside!

Oh, what we would have done to be the gas station attendant on duty when this rolled up. Some lucky New Mexicans had a chance to adore a GTR prototype up close, when it stopped for fuel while undergoing altitude testing in New Mexico yesterday.
Not much is camo'd in the pics, with the exception of the front end and, according to the photographer, the interior. While there's nothing new to report on the styling front, we'd ask you to direct your attention to the absolutely stunning seven-spoke rimmage, framing the equally drool-worthy gold binders.
We can't wait. We can't wait. We can't wait. And this is just the latest reminder that we'll be able to finally experience the pinnacle of Nissan performance here in the States.
Mad tip proppage to Nadir Ali.

Astonishingly ugly. Smooth move, Ghosn.
I lusted after this car for 8 years and when it finally comes here, it looks like it has swelled up from being beaten with the ugly stick.

Ooh...that looks nice.
Is it just me, or is there quite a bit of Saab in the design?

What were they thinking testing this in New Meixico? You know how jumpy the New Mexicans get when they see fast moving, strange, silver, shiny objects. The driver was lucky not to get dragged from his "space vehicle" and beaten to a pulp.

As long as you have $80k then sure. I'm betting for most people reading and writing for this site, not so much.

Has the pricing been released? I would have thought more along the lines of $50k

If Nissan is smart they will make it a total de-tuned dog with the cheapest parts possible. I mean all the TunerBoyz that can get Mommy and Daddy to co-sign the loan with have one NO MATTER what it does stock.
Honestly, who besides the Skyline fans are even considering this car? At $50-60K?
Like I said, Goshen, strip it out, make $25k on each one you sell then get a cut of the Aftermarket parts. Fanboyz spend $30K getting a $9K civic to run sub 14's so just think of the stupid money they will spend on a $60K car to run 11s. Or 10s. or 9s actually who cares.
I just can't wait to see the pictures of the sobbing mothers and the flaming wrecks.
"Oh, my poor son! James "DJ Nismo-Skribble", he was only 18! He had a such a promising future as a pro-gamer/snowboarder/DJ/fashion designer/rapper. He was going to the be the next White/Asian/Latino Sean Combs! WHY GOD?!? WHY?!?"
Woo, hoo! Thanks Nissan, I now have something to look forward to besides drunk teenage girls flipping their parent's SUVs on the West Side Highway at 3:30am on Saturday night.

I like it and all, but it really looks like it might be a modified 350Z

Higher res pic? Are you serious?
The car has camo on it and it was at a gas station. Sorry a professional photographer with proper lighting wasn't available for you.
By the way, that looks amazing.

Genius #6 thinks this car is uglier than previous GT-Rs with a straight face, no less.
Genius #11 thinks you can but 450-500 twin turbo, all wheel drive low volume high technology studliness for $50 grand.
C'mon ladies, let's up the IQ a little here. If this were an Audi you'd be shrugging off $100K for a lesser vehicle.

Nadir Ali, where did you see the car? I'm in northern New Mexico and was wondering if I should keep an eye out :)

Just because it's an AWD turbocharged Japanese car doesn't mean it's a tuner car. Considering the price of the previous GT-R, I'd expect this to be around 911 Carrera price, and Nissan have said many times that it'll be faster than a 911 Turbo so that's a pretty damn good deal I'd say.
Looks great anyways, those wheels are really nice too. They don't look like 20s though, and I'm pretty sure Nissan confirmed it'll have either 19s front and 20s rear or 20s all round.
