Just debadge the back, replace the front with a Holden OEM front, and you're good to go :)

But... I still think Holden should have just come here as themselves. For one thing, *there's no shite model.* No decontented pushrod four-speed rental-fleet crap. You either get a powerful world-class V6, or a balls-out world-class V8.

And my favorite part: they're not bastardizing the term "GT." That model designation is finally reserved for a genuinely fast, long-legged grand touring sedan. No more "GT" as a racy-sounding synonym for "Base" or "LX."

Pricing remains the big question; the SSR could have been a winner too, if it wasn't hideously overpriced (right up against the 'Vette). But if GM gets that part right too, my faith is restored.

PJ

Comments on

Lutz said it starts around $25,000.

DC

Comments on

Looks good to me... Im really intrested to see if it can maintain a avrage gas milage over 25 mpg in the V8, and how well it preforms in safty stardards.. Asside from that I really like to see how well it handles.. A decent car to ask for at the rental desk! Avis will no longer be the poor relation to Hertz with these on the fleets.

Seriously though, great to see GM giving us a real drivers car. Yes, agreed the styling is nothing new, in some angles it is the spitting image of the 3 series, the interior looks like it fell out of an Acura.

The list of cars you mention though are some of the best cars on the market right now (save the Altima, yuck!) so if GM is going to imitate, imitate the best!
