I had hopes that this next concept would give a look to the redesigned 6 or RX8. With the CX 7 and 9 and Tribute what do they need another CUV like vehicle for. When will people understand you can’t make everything like a sportscar. High center of gravity and weight of CUV/SUV are the exact opposite of a sportscar. The best you can do is a sportwagon, at least it will be a little lighter with a low center of gravity.

Steve

Comments on Mazda Hakaze Concept preview

I really like it looks awesome love the unique lines and overall style looks cool..

Thomas

Comments on Mazda Hakaze Concept preview

Ugly enough to be British. Jeez, they pay my kid $100/hr. to produce this stuff. Okay, GM paid their guys big bucks to slap clay onto a minivan to make an Aztek, too. It is my guess that this might replace the Tribute in the US (CX-5). I suggest we wait to see what the production version looks like. Personally I think the vehicle has some very interesting lines.

Unixxus

Comments on Mazda Hakaze Concept preview

Uh, Huh

Richard Warren

Comments on Mazda Hakaze Concept preview

Yeah, well, I'm not really impressed - I thought this was supposed to be a production preview concept... And this is deceivingly predictable. Another CUV? Come on. Is Mazda already losing its way?

The other two concepts we've seen using the 'Nagare' styling concept have blown me (and pretty much everyone who's seen it) away, but this concept is lacking something. They love small utilitarian hatches over on the continent but those type of vehicles always flop over here. Mazda needs to put that 2.3l DISI turbo (or a rotary) in a small, light-weight (2500lbs), 2 door coupe like the Kabura concept. The sports car market is back. Sales of the Mustang and 350Z have even enticed super conservative Toyota to think about re-entering the segment with a revived Supra (see FT-HS concept). The RX-8 is getting a little long in the tooth without any significant upgrades to speak of since its introduction. Now would be the time to phase out the RX-8 and to bring out a true successor to the RX-7. Does Mazda really need 3 Crossover vehicles in its line-up that are virtually the same? How about a miata coupe...no not a hardtop convertible, an actual coupe or hatchback for added utility?

ziggy

Comments on Mazda Hakaze Concept preview

When did Chris Bangle take a job with Mazda?

Dan

Comments on Mazda Hakaze Concept preview

Mazda's latest concept cars are scaring me!!
