How about a 2010 BMW 5 Series Rendering?
Pictures of future BMWs tend to get the attention of people like you and I. Maybe it's conditioning from all of those cover shots and glowing comments about BMWs over the years on Car and Driver and Motor Trend. It could be that we all know BMWs are just a hoot to drive, with laser-sharp steering and teriffic acceleration. They get a lot of looks too, which can be a good or bad thing.
The BMW in question is reported to be the 2010 5-Series. It looks darn good, with some Mercedes Benz CLS from the side and some 3 Series up front. It amazes us exactly how professional these renderings look. There is even the reflection of a tree in the passenger side window. It may be just a clever rendering, but we think it's worth looking at either way.
Thanks goes out to JP for the tip.

Looks good, except for the taillights. I'm not a fan of that style, where half of the cluster stretches farther than the other half. Saab 9-5, 3-series coupe, A4, it just looks incomplete. Minor quibbling, I know, but I just want everyone who has to look at my taillights to at least have a nice view.

Hmmm
I happen to enjoy BMW's.. but think the last gen was the better one. They looked more imposing.. these just look soft. And the bangle treatments.. dont help at all.

I like it. The current gen 5 series is one of there best looking banglized version. I hope they give the 5 a diet, because its gaining weight every year, and I don't think unleaded contains trans-fat.

I for one will miss the "Bangled" designs. The 7 (before being "fixed), the 5 and the Z4 are great. The 3 is blah, the spy shots of the new 7 and 5 are more blah. BMW is going back to the one design, 3 lenghths school of thought.

I like this rendition of the next-gen 5-series. Has some nice lines and looks very sleek, almost coupe like. Maybe a little CLS there, which wouldn't be bad thing.
One of the things I like about the current generation 5-series is the very low front end. I hope that carries over to the new vehicle.

I hate to say it, but the slightly rounder shape front and rear makes it look like a Camry. Not that the shape is ugly - I prefer though the angry look of the current model.

That's a beautiful car; however with the experiments that went on regardng the Bangleized version of the current 5 series - it would appear (and yes - I know this is just a rendering) that BMW design is retreating once again to fashion many of their designs to look alike. I thought "flame surfacing" and "Bangle-butts" were intented to separate the models from one another.

Anything is an improvement over the current dowdy design which looks so bad that owners hide behind black and gray. Ever see a white one? Oy.
BTW, it's "attentions of people like you and me".

Renderings like this are (relatively) easy to make using existing photos and some skill with Photoshop, hence the realistic reflections on windows. Probably carried over from the original photo used as the basis for this rendering. Overall I like the design. Definitely a departure from the "My headlights have 57 sides" look of the current gen 5 Series

I certainly am not one who likes the 'Bangle' effect... but those renderings are so real, they even rendered the front tires with 'feathered' outer edges, as if the car had been road tested.....
Excellent work....

It's not bad. I'd like to see iDrive gone more than anything else, however.

I'm hoping this is what the next gen 5 series WILL look like. The current design of the 5, that debuted in the 2004 model year, is just too boxy and unconventional looking to me. I tried to give it a few years to get used to, but, just can't warm up to it. This "rendering" looks great, and, a lot like the current 3 series. I own a 2003 530i, and, it's the best vehicle I've ever driven. I plan to get the 2010 IF the design is more mainstream. This "look" at the "next generation" gives me hope...it looks GREAT! (and...under the hood...you can bet the folks at BMW are busy making the "Ultimate Driving Maching" even moreso....
