eBay Find of the Day: slightly used Lotus Elise
You may remember reading our original post on this Lotus Elise and feeling the abject horror that accompanies the site of such a car pointing towards the sky. Well, the owner has decided to salvage what he can from the debacle that saw his beloved Elise tumble from a mechanic's lift by selling it on eBay. Actually, he's really selling it because a bad motorcycle accident left his leg not strong enough to shift the car anymore. He does give pretty good disclosure of the accident on the auction page, saying that his buddy, a body repair man, could fix the damage done by the fall for $2,000. Hmm... no thanks. It sounds like the car is still in driveable condition, however, and at the moment the bidding has reached only $13,601 with a litle over 3.5 days to go. Somebody needs to give this car a good home and nurse it back to health. Thanks for the tip, Thomas!

This poor thing has been on eBay a couple of times now. I wish somone would buy it and actually put the work in to make it shine again. The car still has some goodies on it (exhaust, stereo, etc) and was a very fun car before the accident. The only thing that scares me is a possible hole in the floorboard/chassis/tub that the original owner listed in the initial damage claim. Aside from that it should be an easy fix for a skilled fiberglass person.
Hopefully it finds a good home this time!

Just want to let you guys know this is the second time this Elise on eBay. The guy who is selling it right now is the guy who bought it last time (from eBay), not the original owner. thx.

Hey, Qball here (the original, one-and-only dude that had his Elise dropped by the tire store).
I was the previous owner of this vehicle.
When I settled with the insurance company, they took posession of the vehicle and sold it at auction. The current owner (the guy selling it on E-bay with the bum leg) bought it from the salvage wholesaler.
Good luck to the future owner.

#4, read #3:
But any car being wrecked, auctioned, then auctioned again... means problems... no way around it.
If it was a simple fix then it would be out cruising on some twistys right now instead of on ebay (still not fixed - did I say that already)

I'll just wait till it's on ebay for the 4th or 5th time and grab it up for $2K.
